Yes, it can be very helpful to know equivalents but it is not exactly S-C=-P. This is not an mathematical equation or rather it is incomplete. It merely illustrates equivalent positions. S-C = -P+X Solve for X.

Hi, I'm looking for a good charting package. Currently, I use IB's charts on TWS. Not very good at times - well pretty often. I'm thinking of using Sierra, but I'm wondering if there are any low cost programs out there that may be superior. Or an expensive program that may be worth...

IV mavens sometimes track IV and look for extreme readings - and assume a reversion to the mean. Various option strategies may be employed to try to take advantage of these situations. Others may look for IV skews in an effort to buy low IV and sell high IV. Good luck :p
