    KTS's NQ Express

AAPL is %20 of NQ so it pays to keep an eye on it. Any of you guys have an interest in setting up a live trading room for NQ (free, of course) so communication is quicker than the message board... maybe make it private to keep the stragglers out? just a thought...

    Pictures of your trading stations

I wish. Three Stooges. Yup. You lose a little bit of sharpness but the size more than makes up for it. Of course, it takes some time to get used to. That's also my main comp so it works well for doing other stuff too, like playing dvds...

Here's my setup, nice and simple... used the iphone so the quality isn't the best.

Somebody was stuck - moved Equities Futures Hard

Just because the market doesn't do what you want doesn't mean its being manipulated. The market gave plenty of opportunities to sell 1097-1092 before the cash close, after it failed to breakout earlier. It didn't just come out of nowhere.

Second Depression Averted Due to Bailouts: Study

How can you have any idea what would have happened? Is there some parallel universe to ours they observed where they didn't use any stimulus that I don't know about? Who knows, if we didn't stimulate the economy maybe the Sun would have exploded or there would have been a nuclear holocaust...

What are things you can do to prepare yourself to trade after waking up?

    1) Get more sleep 2)Coffee 3)Pick up a smoking habit(preferably cigarettes, not crack) 4)Do some exercise 5)Create a rule that you wont trade before a certain time(for me I'll only trade half size before 9:45 est) 6)When you sit down force yourself to remember some of the bad trades you...

What does the FED have left?

They'll lend but not to the private sector. First the banks will lend in the inter-bank market and drive the the effective fed funds rate to 0, then they'd drive t-bill rates to 0, then t-note rates etc... The problem is that the private sector is tapped out. People don't want to...

Goldman Sachs makes $1 billion profit on food price speculation

All of that is completely irrelevant to my post which was about speculators and commodity prices; your complaint seems to be with the food industry and those greedy bastards at your local deli/pizza place. Here's a chart of CPI for food - Crude foodstuffs/feedstuffs Here's a chart of CPI...

Goldman Sachs makes $1 billion profit on food price speculation

Why was no one complaining when the evil speculators pushed the price down? So the price of Coffee and Cocoa are near multi-year highs and the price of corn is 50% below its 2008 high, wheat almost 60%, beans over 35%, rice 60% When sugar dropped %60 in 3 months I didn't hear anyone...

Does a reduction in M2 Money supply yields Deflation?

Because of the big drop in retail and institutional money market funds since the markets bounced. Most likely from people putting that money to work in riskier financial assets. M1 is still pretty strong and savings accts are growing at almost %14 y/y, which is all more "spendable" money and...

Does a reduction in M2 Money supply yields Deflation?

Not necessarily, M2 - and traditional monetary aggregates in general - have less of an effect than people think. If you look at the crisis in 2008 M2 growth was solid and took off at the end of the year as the markets were going through a deflationary shock. M2 growth y/y is still positive...

Why you should average up, NEVER down

Like others have said, it depends what the market is and what it's doing. If it's chopping averaging down can work, if its trending averaging up can work. If only it was easy to figure out whether we will chop or trend on any given day. Since a lot of people don't fade the chop averaging...

    The reasoin for today's rally?

This would do almost nothing except flattening the curve a bit and causing a brief pop in risk assets. This would do little except to drive the EFF to 0 and limit the ability of the fed to control the fed funds market at a time when banks are being pushed to get money into borrowers hands...

I need advice from the ground up on platform and broker set up. Pls help

Just because the day margin is $500 doesn't mean you can trade with $500 in your account. My personal feeling is that your cash reserve should depend on the instrument and the level of volatility. In a market like we have now you probably want $2500+ to trade 1 contract, and likely have to...

Who Started Trading Straight Out of College?

Started trading when i was 15 (first trade was March 2000, real solid timing). Traded throughout HS. Traded the whole time I was at college and switched over to trading futures sophmore year; skipped about 1/3 of my classes so i could still trade. Somehow I managed to graduate w/ a degree in...

Amp, Advantage, Global, or Mirus Futures Trading?

I realize this is an old thread and you probably found a broker by now but imo, no matter what broker you use, RCG clearing is the way to go. I'm with Global through RCG and have never had an issue with either in 5 years. Recently switched platforms and was thinking of going with Ninja for...
