    Now this is plainly amazing

Officials are quite confident the "time-traveler's" claims are bogus. Yet the SEC source admits, "No one can find any record of any Andrew Carlssin existing anywhere before December 2002." Weekly World News will continue to follow this story as it unfolds. Keep watching for further developments.

'TIME-TRAVELER' BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING http://tv.yahoo.com/news/wwn/20030319/104808600007.html anyone heard about that news? I can't even calculate the return on investment, it's just HUGE.

    Why do they hate us?

Darkhorse, I always value your responses. The issue of whether other countries "envy" us or not is left for debate. I think it is something worth hoping for. Could all this hatred and anti americanism be just envy? I don't think so. While you may rely on some countries who are pro...

    Why do they hate us?

I'm afraid. Afraid of where we're going with all these interpretations. Interpretations that make no sense but to ourselves, to fill the void of morally sound judgments. Judgments that will keep us down if we don't start opening up. Up is where we've been going this past century. Down is where...

    Syria next ? You bet.

You sound like a member of the KKK, candletrader. You and your values of freedom are distorted by your apparent racist views. Dunno what the moderators are doing but your posts have no significant value, they are neither artistic or informative.

    Syria next ? You bet.

You don't sound patriotic guys, you sound like a bunch of extremists. No wait, you sound like terrorists, or at least you think like terrorists. Think about why terrorists act, and think about how you act. See a similarity? Nevertheless, have fun throwing fuel in the fire. Does bombing a...

    Hedge funds

sounds like it's a disaster waiting to happen. Good luck anyways but don't give the industry a bad name or you'll hear about me (and others I'm sure).

    Single Stock Future contract expiration?

Toronto, Futures are not usually associated with long term investments. Futures and by that I also mean Single Stock Future are usually a speculative/hedging tool for the near future (Although some futures have expirations that reach out way into the future, say 2006). Therefore they come with...

    Hedge funds

Hedge Funds are not a vehicle for failed traders who think they can make a quick buck by grabbing the management fees. If it were, believe me, people would be doing it everyday. A hedge fund is a serious business with some serious responsibilities towards the client. Not only do you have to...

    Mechanical ES system

your risk of ruin is way too high. You will go broke, it is a matter of time. I don't want to seem pessimistic, but realistically risking 20% on one trade is shear madness. Take it easy.

Using a Bug Tracking Software to record the plan check :D

I think it's a waste of time IMO. You will never have a perfect system even if you record every discrepancy the way you do. Have fun anyways.

who are the best traders in the world?

No way, my own favorite is Ed Seykota. Larry Williams is overrated.

    Mechanical ES system

good call gms. A real system developper develops an edge not only in designing a positive expectancy system but has an edge in everything else as well (best brokers, double§triple redundancy, UPS, you name it.)

Why would anyone post their strategy?

I disagree Kay. If you think your little 1000/5000 shares competes with institutions you are wrong. The reason why institutions will not use your system is simple: they have way too big of a base to trade like the little guys. They'd move the market and incur heavy slippage, maybe even...

Why would anyone post their strategy?

actually vanilla you are raising one very good point. Your assumption is that the trend is made up of people who think alike (buy/sell), and that's a valid assumption. The issue here, is whether your system NEEDS to enter at a particular price. If it does, you are going to have a hellish time...

Why would anyone post their strategy?

Corso, how would you know if the system is "broken"? Food for thought ;)

Why would anyone post their strategy?

You know, if things were that clean cut, I think that if everybody played warcraft or any other chess game with the same strategy in mind, no one would win, you'd probably break even or lose a little, even with a winning strategy (doing everything right according to plan). Let's say everyone...

Is this a good equity curve?

My thoughts on the question are that backtests can definitely help you keep confidence in the system but you still have to have ways to cut the system off if it diverges too much from expected drawdowns. Good luck. Remember, the hard part is execution and keeping to the plan.

    lets be honest

Seriously though, if you are a would be trader and you are adopting this mentality of the 90/10, you shouldn't be either trading or investing. Stay out of the market, buy a cave in the mountains and keep your money under your pillow. Never will you make a penny or have the strength of mind to...
