lol, if you are happy about your DSL connexion why are you thinking of a satellite connexion? For one thing, uploading to a satellite is expensive (usually you upload through phone line) and secondly satellites are not all that hot when the weather is bad. I would reconsider.

That was not the impression I got from his post. It seems he merely wants to access the TWS system running on the other computer, not connect two applications to the same API.

I could use it if i wanted to but i don't think the IB feed is all that great, furthermore it has limitations (snapshot vs real ticks) and the number of symbols one can monitor. Again, I don't run a charting app, i run a system.

I run my own proprietary system. The IB connexion is just a brokerage connexion, I use MyTrack as my primary market feed. I don't really know what to tell you except it uses the API with no SOAP or data sharing protocols. Plain and simple. It's C not Java btw.

I disagree, I think cable is a lot better than DSL, and a lot more stable.

It's a good book and I like the method. At least for futures trading, for equity trading it's a lot more difficult to implement.
