I thought about this, but in relation to the iPhone. I think it depends on what plans they have for Skype, because it doesn't make much sense to limit the user potential unless I'm just not seeing something.
What's so hard to believe? They bought a VOIP program (they don't have one currently) that doubles a "messenger" service (MSN Messenger was a joke) and now they have a dedicated customer base that will be there in whatever direction they take this program.
I'm not surprised.
I don't want to sound like the average ET poster here, but I doubt they trade it.
If they are having any kind of success with people subscribing then there's no real need to. Less risk, and all gain.

None of those were the same magnitude of Google. It has literally become a verb. Did you ever "Yahoo" that information you were looking for? Google won't get thrown off by Bing. Maybe it's competitor will show up, but it's not here yet.
I don't really understand your issue with using a virtual machine, or bootcamp. I run parallels in coherence mode, and love it. I can use any software I want, mac or pc.
