Juneteeth, options expire on Friday, and buying CDs or treasuries...

I had a small position called away on Friday with TD Ameritrade. Looking at my account the shares have been sold and my account has been credited with the proceeds from the sale of stock.

    Poker vs Day Trading

    1) I don't understand that one. My point number one is you have to ante up to see your hand; not so in trading. 2) Perhaps you can have a guaranteed win in poker; I don't play. It is hard to believe if you sit down at a table with five other guys that you are likely to have a guaranteed win on...

Kroger Is a Steal Compared to Walmart

My rules are- Wal-Mart for cleaning supplies and dog food. Krogers, Publix, or Piggly Wiggly for my groceries.

    Poker vs Day Trading

I disagree that trading is like poker. 1) In order to play poker you have to ante up before any cards are dealt. In trading, you can wait (at the table so to say) until you see an opportunity. 2) Seeing the opportunity is like seeing your hand BEFORE you place a bet. 3) In a poker game only one...

Pro's and con's of using a wifi connection to trade?

I have fiber direct to my home. I am considering using the wifi that is included with my direct-to-home fiber; not "community wifi".

Pro's and con's of using a wifi connection to trade?

My time frame is short term as in 5 minutes and under. I always use a stop and targets I live in a rural area 300 yards from the road and only one neighbor within wifi range. I use ninjatrader and they recently added a phone trading app I could use to get out of a trade if the computer goes...

Pro's and con's of using a wifi connection to trade?

Over the years I have heard people say "Never trade over a wifi connection". I recently switched internet providers and am thinking of getting rid of my home router and just using the ISP wireless connection. All my devices (Desktop, TV, Printer and other devices) are capable of using wifi...

    Footprint Charts

Mike Valtos has some good educational material and (in my opinion) a pretty good footprint add-on for Ninjatrader. My advice;DON'T BUY ANYTHING from him unless you have watched a few of his videos and what he teaches makes sense to you. Here is his Youtube channel...

Inherited IRA - Anyone ever have one?

I have received an inherited IRA. I am with TD and all I had to do was fill out a transfer form however there were some things I had to have the current broker do such as sell-off fractional shares. Not a big deal.

    Audible what a scam

Anybody that enjoys audible should look into the third party audile apps that let you download your books to your computer so YOU have them permanently available for listening. I use open audile for this.

Yesterday's WSJ article on a 0% cap gains rate since 2008

My basic household expenses are under 30k. Paid for home, paid for vehicle, and no debt. My income is higher than the threshold for this "0%" tax but I assure you people that live in low cost of living areas can survive just fine with an income of under 60k easily.

I view the heartache of losing a dog as my payment for the years of joy they brought to my life. I am sorry for your loss Ken.

    URA ... Uranium ETF

One player in the small modular reactor business is SMR (Nuscale power corp). They have a contract to build a modular reactor in Romania. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nuscale-power-ropower-announce-signing-115000917.html https://www.nuscalepower.com/en I am not currently planning on...

    URA ... Uranium ETF

Another good play is Cameco. Since quite a bit of nuclear fuel is refined and processed in Russia this Canadian company should benefit from the current geopolitical environment. The reasoning is further explained by a nuclear expert in the second linked podcast above...

    URA ... Uranium ETF

I realize BHP is not a pure uranium play however their other products are attractive to me as is the dividend. I have URNM to cover more of the uranium sector.

    URA ... Uranium ETF

Recently Macro voices had a two-part series "All things nuclear" and it was very informative. If you have some spare time it is well worth it. https://macrovoices.podbean.com/e/macrovoices-355-mark-nelson-understanding-all-things-nuclear/...

My job is holding me back

I say go for it! Like I mentioned earlier; you can always fall back on another sales job if you don't make it.

My job is holding me back

I say go for it; if it doesn't work out you can always get back into sales. Just remember you will have to pay your own health insurance (assuming you are in the U.S.) and at your age it will likely be 8 to 900 dollars per month.
