HA, you better have a faith based on facts. From xxxx+ number of your trades you are able to derive overarching principle. This principle must be applied before trade takes place. And this gives you faith, no doubt. i talk too much...

dont agree on this one. fund manager is just another member of crowd. and they are not good traders on average. see performance. that makes it worthvile beeing good trader, whether fund manager or not, i guess.

see what you mean and i agree beeing knife catcher myself. however, here is another one... market is trending on large timeframes and provides little joy for shortterm traders. what if this persists for months, or even years as it may be long grinding bull. do you have any brake ?

he may be in front of couple of large drawdowns, hitting rock bottom. Been there. Soros needed 17 years - 23 to 40. However his method is for large money and clearly based on true edges. Smaller edges disappear quicker. I bet no intraday edge that works today will be around in 5 yrs time.

from memory was not that bad. News was so ubelievable that market move was smooth although large. flash crash was worse. You better worry about scenario like when CHF pegged and price moved 10% within a minute, likely you would get executed at worst possible price.

i think pool of money available for grab to daytraders shrunk significantly thks to HFT & GFC. Your friends are lucky not to feel this trader's recession.

it is bull market so one would expect shorting will not work that great. Do you incorporate overall market trend in you decision making ?

you ask for any feedback, so I will add mine :) Question is incorrect. Question should be which option you list, retail will think is correct. Action should be - go against them. As there is little retail in this space, no high probability setup will present.
