OK, what moron shows 100K size???

I remember once in premarket DNA was up several points and there was a 100K offer on INCA, so I shorted a 1000 shares 25 cents below him, next thing I know 500K ! bid came in on INCA, stock exploded several more points, and lucky for me the stock traded nicely after the open and gave me the...

ericy trade busted long @ 20.52

Once I sold short 200 shares of DNA on ISLD (somebody came bidding over there), had over 2 mil dol. profit on the trade, you do the math and tell me the price. We took the picture of my P&L on a dig. camera, but I can't find it right now. They broke the trade in half an hour or so, of course.

    ARCA premarket listed quotes

I would appreciate if someone could mention websites that (free or for a small fee) provide real-time premarket trades on ARCA for listed stocks. Ideally I'm looking for a list of most up/down from previous day's close, something like inet.com provides. Thank you very much.

    New ETG-Trader Debuts . . .

CNBC ticker and a telephone can beat the hell out of Gr8trade, and I remember ETG promising Gr8trade to deliver miracles, the same way you guys are pumping the new ETGtrader now.

    NYSE Direct+ change

Are new rules being implemented yet? I nx'd the shorter at CI right at the open for 2400 shares, and got the fill as fast as a regular nx, but still have the doubt that just was a quick fill from the specialist.

    Am I crazy

From the traders that I know of, those who concentrated on NYSE listed issues were the ones who had steady profits. The styles can be different, from momentum trading of most actives, largest up/down stocks of the day to "specialist" style of trading of closed end funds (making the spread on low...

    Am I crazy

I know a guy who hasn't had a down month for the last 3 years, with the worst month being up at least 10K. He trades full time and supports 2 families.

Transition from Prop to Hedge fund

I was a prop trader for 3 years, now trading under the umbrella of a hedge fund. The main issue I faced was the scalability of my trading system. Due to the liquidity issues, the access to large capital wasn't that beneficial to me. The 90 % of profits I can get trading prop. is higher than the...

    ETG H1B traders

Thank you for all who replied, but the answers weren't what I was looking for. ETG was kind to sponsor me and several other foreign nationals, due to the boom of the business (start of 2000). The way it works is they guarantee you a small salary, which will count as a draw against profits, and...

    ETG H1B traders

Hi, If you have traded and left ETG during the last 2-3 years, and have been a foreign resident on H1B status, please PM me. I have recently left the firm and need to talk to some former ETG traders who have been on H1B. Your time and help is appreciated and might be compensated. Please PM...

where to get NYSE pre-open halts

Can you please give me a few names of market data providers that have the real-time list of stocks that are halted on NYSE (I'm specifically interested in pre-open, both news pending and imbalance). For example, I know that AT financial's list of most active NYSE listed stocks will mention all...

    Money

In current market conditions an AVERAGE NEWBIE trader loses (at best breaks even) for at least 3-6 months. If you don't have enough money saved to support your family for at least 6 months (from your post I'll assume that you don't), than I would suggest not going full time trading (unless...

Once again someone asks for an advice, and than insults the person who is trying to help him. My close friend lives in Moscow, and I can assure you it's one of the most expensive cities in the world.

    Cutting losses is for losers

Mrmarket, I used to find you a bit entertaining, but you last statement about "idiot daytraders cutting their losses" really upset me. I do cut my losses as fast as possible, trying not to let the position go against me even a tick. You can call me an idiot, but I've been trading for 3 years now...

Your first stock and what happened??

My first trade was to short a company called Zi (symbol. ZICA) at 7 dol., I thought it was too much for a 40 cent stock go that high that fast. I got out at 8, the stock went almost non-stop to 40. Now trades around 2-3 dol.
