probably this thing with the Amex is revenge against island for moving their quote business to the cincinatti exchange.. if i remember correctly didnt nasdaq acquire amex a year or so ago? and with the battle between supermontage and the ecns still going hot and heavy, this is a pretty stiff...

i thought it was all electronic as well.. however.. i made probably 6 trades in the dow emini and had about 4 times that i tried to hit a bid or ask with a limit and when i pressed the button the bid/offer backed away several ticks.. coincidence is once.. freak accident is twice.. four...

traded them first time this week.. no liquidity.. wide spreads.. and the mms back away from their quotes.. lots of games.. just makes it too annoying to worry with for me.. -qwik

i traded that for the first time this week :).. its crazy how the market makers act.. if they want to attract liquidity they need to at least honor their quotes.. its not like the spread isnt huge anyway.. the only thing you can do is step in front of them on the offer, wait for them to come...

if the stock is making a base, say trading from 13.10 to 13.30 and looks to breakdown.. maybe try to get in closer to 13.30, thats where your stop should be anyway.. i trade the es and nq now and going for breaks can really be frustrating if you wait to get in on the break.. its better to be...

Macal, i think for the most part once you find a good fit you can leave the chart settings alone.. for the ES im using 210, 343, and 55 tick charts.. but a one min and a three min should work ok.. and the nq im using 77 and 133 tick charts.. the bb settings on the chart i posted are 1.8...

if there is a few second delay then it isnt realistic market feel.. of course, you wouldnt know that would you.. but, really if you want a simulator there are some good ones out there.. im currently using ensign and they have a simu-broker and a market playback feature which will play back...
