    Poker and the Beginning Trader

I play the 15/30 hold 'em regularly at www.partypoker.com . I dropped about 15k in my first couple months, and have since made back a little more than that. So I'm profitable, and yes they let you cash out whenever you like, and this always goes smoothly. Online poker (at least at...

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

Let's say an annoying snake oil salesman decided to pollute these boards with hundreds of posts every day, touting his 'amazing money making mega stockpimp 5000' trading software. You'd see a use for censorship in that instance, wouldn't you?

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

Well, you certainly didn't miss the boat when it comes to understanding the Israeli/ Pal conflict. Brilliant post. I hope your post has helped a few misguided koran-huggers understand this issue a bit better.

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

You may already know about this one: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. [al-Ma'idah 5:51.11] But did you know that there are 123 verses in the Quran concerning fighting and killing for the cause of Allah? Here are but a few passages: -Muslims are...

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

I believe that Baron is doing a superb job of keeping spammers away from elite trader. Just one look at any other trader's message board will make you appreciative of the job he's doing. Spam, not obscenities is the true worthy target of any censor. Besides, as long as I'm free to point...

Einstein's puzzle: Can you sovle it?

Certainly you should switch! If you keep your choice as originally selected, you have a 33% chance of winning the car. If you switch, your chances improve to 50%. This situation happened all the time on the old game show 'Let's make a deal', and contestants would constantly screw it up.

Einstein's puzzle: Can you sovle it?

I too thought of this issue. I'd attribute this to the 'Flynn effect', i.e. the average IQ back when the puzzle was written was far lower than today's average. "Compared to the previous generation, the number of people who score high enough to be classified as "genius" has increased more...
