I think it’s possible but requires superhuman patience and an understanding of the length of life that is nearly impossible for us to comprehend. For mere mortals, a few lucky guesses can make a huge difference— and dollar-cost-averaging.

nationalizing copper mines... this thread pointed me in the direction of this trade. options on copper futures are priced using black-scholes which doesn't take into consideration that nickel, oil, gold, etc, are ramping higher day after day... russia is the 8th largest producer of copper, mind...

the charts are uncannily similar. if it plays out similarly, $190 seems possible before a crash back to $75... edit: albeit clearly on a different timescale. everything plays out faster in the exponential age.

I don’t think anyone is pricing in a return to deep sea drilling—- i was in sdrl back in the day, a $200 stock with an 8-9% yield. I was thinking of long dated calls on off-shore drillers on Thursday-Friday. Would have been a good trade. Could still be. Is there enough oil? edit: 200 NOK
