    Futures brokers w/ pit access?

if you have the guy on the phone...keep it, screw any other option. Especially if you can get that across all markets.

    Futures brokers w/ pit access?

true...but OEC has a BAD history of stalled data...and I don't particularly like that....

    Futures brokers w/ pit access?

heech, If you clear through RCG your IB should offer the RAN order system. 25cents per contract for the platform fee, but its direct to the floor, rather than call in and wait. Immediate notification of fills, and can check order status etc. Not sure how accurate the B/A is, as a lot of...

    Corn, Beans

Wow....amazing....I do apologize, usually guys who supposedly "know" someone are fakes. I'm friends with a bean oil / crush trader too. And I agree on your "weather being a non issue" thing. Right now no matter the forecast, we are in a market structure dictated by whatever fund x wants...

    Corn, Beans

Ok...I'll bite, because this is clearly fake. I personally know locals in both bean oil, cattle (both) and lean hogs, so I'm familiar with who is in the belly pit. There are about 6 regular locals that trade bellies...tell me, which one do you know? You can PM me if you like...either name or...

Selling puts on FCOJ at 50 strike

no he meant there is no premo in them...although yes...liquidity a concern too. Usually in OJ options, if you think its a level that can't possibly be hit and you find someone to buy your writes at that strike....yea...it'll find you

    ICE soft settlements

yea...ICE not very user friendly at all...really a crappy exchange imo. Wish we still had the pits at NYBOT. That document is old, but the OPTIONS hours it states are correct, and the softs settle and technically "open" with the options. Everything else is "pre" and "post" trading. If...

    ICE futures.. settlement vs close?

    Out of BUSINESS!

Yes...from what I've heard about Twitter and seen for myself on Facebook...every college kid with a couple hundred bucks and the ability find stockcharts.com is now the new "guru". I was actually laughed at the other day b/c one of these "gurus" (read: attention whore) thought I was feeding...

im new to ag futures..whats good?

They will "assist" you by taking their hand...placing it on their mouse, and clicking "buy" or "sell" on your mkt of choice and price. You might get some "advice", but I'll save you the hassle...if the market has been going higher (based on net change, not intra-day action) they'll tell you to...

Major Bank to Collapse in a few days

wow...Idaho based...last scandal I remember that came out of Idaho was J.R. Simplot's potato futures mess in the late 70's, early 80's.....who was the P/E group??

How much do you guys pull out of your trading accounts every month?

When I was building up my account, I pulled out the bare minimum needed to survive for the next month, and also a little to build up an emergency fund for 6 months of living expenses in case shit hit the fan. Everything else was kept in the account in order to fund new strategies. Now that...

    any broker with Spread Margins???

Yes...most do as most just follow along with CME SPAN on overnight positions. Both of the brokers I use offer spread margins on all exchange recognized spreads. Those two brokers are Advantage Futures, and RCG. Any of the bigger names will though.

    Option liquidity?

the pit and electronic quotes will have a seperate symbol. If you are using Zen-Fire, you're not getting pit quotes. Not sure if IB quotes the pit or not. More than likely if you want these quotes you'll need to get either a DTN/CQG type product or I think PatSystems has a pit order system...

    Option liquidity?

Yes...oats is one of the most thin markets out there (along with rice, bellies, and lumber). Also, we are about to ramp up into roll next week in the July, so yet another reason you may not see electronic quotes. Finally, the screen will not be NEARLY as active on the thin contracts as with...

    Option liquidity?

yep...wait till the pit opens, then you'll have plenty of bid/ask..at least in the corn, wheat, and beans. Oats probly looks like the bid ask on milk as far as options goes...probly better off going to the floor for oats options. All depends on your size though for the "big 3".
