Don't be, your commentary keeps it interesting in a thread that would otherwise only have a few posts per hour.

Hey mbusch, you always seem to be able to catch the lowest/highest tick possible on your entries. I'll use volume on the 1-min chart to see when volume goes 50%-100% higher than the surrounding bars to make my entries once in the S/R zone, but thats about it. You got any tips you wanna share?:)

Margin Trading for Under 21 w/ good Commissions

I'm 20 and use MBTrading which has similar pricing to IB. I had a margin account 'til I broke the PDT rule (pattern daytrade rule)... now I stick to the futures for trading.

If 1560 resistance holds up and this assending triangle (not sure of exact technical term) breaks, I show us heading back down... target of 1408-1412. If it breaks out above 1460 though I expect a pretty fast paced runup to 1479.

    Brent's Journey to success Journal

I know exactly how you must feel right now. I'm 20 and remember my first day trading the e-minis around 7-8 months ago, and wow, what a rush it was! Most people our age make $15 an hour, so making 10+ times that in such a short period of time I know is one of the best feelings. :D...

I haven't been able to trade, but its nice to see this zone is very valid.

I like 1456-1460 as a short zone if it looks like a reversal is in the making. Just above Fridays high in SPX (but not ES which was 10pts above fair value at 9:40), plus a matching 61.8 fib (last big rally ending 8/08 turned at the same level... similar size move aswell) Through that and I...

I'm looking to see if we can get a little rebound up to 1427.50 to test the trendline that has rejected the 3 past rally attempts. It feels like stepping in front of a train, but the trendline has a pretty good track record of shutting the bulls down so it seems worth the R/R to get short there...

Bah... give or take a couple hundred :p (woops... made the mistake of disregarding the hundreds place since the ES was so accurate) ES was mighty close though, good call by Synic still.

Does anyone ever use closing prices for this? Close of High bar = 1560 Close of Low bar after drop = 1455 1560-1455 = 105 Close of swing high = 1505 1505 - 105 = 1400 ... which is right around where trendline, fib, and february high support will be for Dow aswell.

Stop raised to 1434.00. Unable to gauge price-action so I have a sell at 1444.00 aswell.

Well its still only a 2.25 point stop and I have my sell order at 1458. I'm liking the risk reward. I'd be stingier with my stops except for the fact that I started a job/internship and am unable to day trade... its just put the order in at night or before I leave for work if theres a good...

Nice trade MBusch. I take it you saw the 2700 at the bid at 1525 and weren't trying to call its bluff? :p

    monster rally coming!!

Check out the MACD on that graph... last rally after Feb 27th had less strength than before it. Sell-offs gaining more strength aswell. It appears as if we're setup for 1 more rally to highs though before the big downside comes in.

    Similarities to Index Futures Trading?

Hey everyone, I've been studying and trading the e-mini index futures for around a year and have gotten comfortable with specific setups and a general strategy. Unfortunately, just as I'm gaining traction, I'm no longer able to trade during the market hours because of a job/internship (I'm...

With most of the market being hedge-fund versus hedge-fund these things are invevitable. Somebodies gotta be underperforming if somebody is outperforming... so whos up 20% YTD?.... although it is kinda nice to see some of the smartest guys in the world down BIG $$$ :D
