KB Homes Sees 48% Cancellation Rate

in accounting, that four letter word tells you it's a rate to rate comparison. However, had it said orders were down by 48% or the like that would mean last qtrs 9000 orders would =4320 orders this qtr. thus my earlier sarcastic remark about them going bankrupt because last q it was about 53%...

risktaker, you are the only one here who said the article said "48% of customers cancelled." it's comparing rate to rate. not rate to customers that's where you are misreading.

Edit: NO. NO. NO!! that 10,000 would be net orders. if last Q net orders were 12,000. of the 2,000 difference 150 may have been due to cancellation. versus up from 100 example.

    YM Journal

I dont trade YM, but nice journal. I'll continue to follow. Since it is one of your criteria, can you include volume when posting your charts? Method seems simple, but for some reason I'm having trouble seeing the set-ups for the horizontal line. I'll catch it in the next couple of days.

maybe this example will help. 1000 contracts signed. qtr 1 2007 100 cancelled qtr 2 2007 150 cancelled 50% rate increase in cancellations. not all 1000 cancelled edit: or =+50% cancellation rate

four letter word "RATE." It's there... you are misreading.
  17. T

KB Homes Sees 48% Cancellation Rate

I guess we should not let them know the cancellation rate was 53% last Q. That's a total of 91% or BANKRUPTCY. hehe
  18. T

KB Homes Sees 48% Cancellation Rate

Grandeur is correct. It is a 48% increase in the cancellation rate.

    What's up with these stocks?

Definitely takeovers as Risktaker has stated. Cashmoney, notice those stocks move in cents; not like the $2 range in ERTS.

My goodness....you would think a certain elitetrader poster here would at least try to hide his envy of Tim. (Nothing but Tim comments) Either that or he wants to share his pillow with him at night.
