Why do some stocks get halted after earnings while others don't?

Sorry if this is an obvious question but GOOG for example wasn't halted today while IBM was. Is there any particular reason why certain stocks are halted while others aren't?

What is the theoretical fair value of a stock with negative Earnings Per Share?

So does that mean book value per share should theoretically be a price floor? I've always wondered about this too as P/E is meaningless with companies that are losing money.

    When will the red end?

IMO, futures don't really matter. We were up over 1% on the futures yesterday but look where we ended up today.

    Washington Mutual going under:

Today almost felt like capitulation for me. We saw extremely high volume, which could be a sign of a blowoff bottom. Despite what people seem to believe, WM is not going bankrupt anytime soon. If they DO go bankrupt, the problems they cause for the financial system won't be good news for any of us.

Google "do no evil" or evil empire of blackbox scam artists ?

Chevy is absolutely right. Warren Buffett was talking about enduring competitive advantages when referring to the moat test. Coca-cola may raise its prices but people are going to keep drinking it. If a competitor comes up with a faster and more relevant search engine, watch Google's future...

Enought liquidity for 10,000 shares per trade in ETFs (SSO/QLD) ?

I think you need to clarify your question. Are you asking if someone can buy 10,000 in a single order without slippage?

Is the difference that Totalview shows all hidden orders while L2 only shows visible? Any help would be appreciated. Also, Intel ended down afterhours at the last moment. Is this a faulty print or the real deal?

The majority of stocks go up on an up day and vice versa. Beta determines how much faster or slow it moves in relation with the market.

QQQQ and SPY are probably the most liquid ETFs.

Enought liquidity for 10,000 shares per trade in ETFs (SSO/QLD) ?

You're going to get slippage on QLD/SSO for sure. The only ETF where you can consistently get a 10,000 share fill without any problems is probably QQQQ.

Time 2 buy AMD in AH?

First of all, the Puma platform's integrated GPU will be competing with G45. Secondly, both Intel and AMD's solutions will be able to provide full 1080p decoding; users who actually need to use a GPU for other purposes will likely opt for a dedicated solution.

Time 2 buy AMD in AH?

I would buy Intel but not AMD right for 2 reasons: 1. Intel is regaining market share where it counts - in servers (especially multi sockets). Barcelona can't even beat Intel's cheapest quad core right now and will consume more power relatively when Intel's 45nm production ramps up; when...

Should you focus on one stock?

I read somewhere that GE is so diversified as a company that it correlates almost perfectly with the performance of the S&P 500. In that sense, GE is an ETF in itself. :p
