    question about dsl/cable router

Usually your service provider (ISP) will give you an IP address via DHCP, therefore your IP address will change periodically. If you want a static IP they usually charge more for business service. Set your router up to DHCP out the WAN port for the ISP's address and DHCP NAT on the LAN side...

    Realtick ES Level II Issues

Both the charts and Level I are accurate but the Level II lags. I use hot keys to execute my orders and they are based off the Level II data, it puts a serious crimp on my order execution.

    Realtick ES Level II Issues

I am being told by Realtick support that users are not having issues with ES Level II lagging behind the actual price. I for one have had this issue happen 3 or 4 times in the last week and a half, usually during the high volume morning hours. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

    Realtick problems

AAA, Try using Ping Plotter. It gives you a little bit more of a graphical representation of your connection. It will show you where the disconnect is and whether the routers in your path are dropping packets. http://www.pingplotter.com/ If the path shows clean and you get a pause or...

    Realtick problems

Josh, The level II for EST2 was behind the Realtick Level I and charts and Ensign charts by up to 10 points. Happens all the time when there is large volume. What are you guys doing to fix this problem? (Please don't tell me this is the first time you've heard of it.)

Make your pay and end for the day?

I think for a newbie, stopping at a set amount of profit is a smart idea. It helps to build confidence by ending the day green and hopefully it brings consistency to their trading. I think it's really up to the choice of the veteran traders whether to stop or not when hot. I've read a number...

    Retirement for Traders

Jay123, I agree with you 100%. The points you make are the primary reasons why I work through each time I think I should hang it up and get a "real" job. I don't want to be 50+ years old and be laid off or hate my job with no place to turn. Trading is definitely a great lifestyle!

    Retirement for Traders

Personally, I will invest in treasuries, quality municipal and utility bonds, and Real Estate once I've built my reserve back up. Traders who are good at swing trading stocks could certainly trade their IRA's. My goal is to have rental real estate and fixed income investments cover my living...

Should a novice play the ES or NQ?

LP, Make sure if you move from trading the NQ to trading the ES that you watch / paper trade it for a while. For me, the difference in the way the two moved was like night and day. I was continually waiting for a breakout (like the NQ often does) in the ES and it would turn on me, many more...

Popular Linksys Router Vulnerable to Attack

This should be done after trading hours: Log into your router, click on the Advanced section (far right option at the top). At the bottom of that first page which should be the Filters page, you will see a selection for Remote Management, disable that. As a matter of fact I would recommend...
