    Basic programmable stock trading package

Wealth-Lab is so great - just starting to get into it after being with TradeStation for many years. The $imulator (portfolio testing) is awesome. Hard to believe that TradeStation won't even have a portfolio testing feature in its next version either. PTR

    TS is NOT Direct Access

Ah Bobby, this is no surprise. This is how it usually works: 1. Point out a problem to TS. 2. TS denies it, saying that it's either your computer or that your software is corrupted and you have to repair it. How could there possibly be a problem with TS? 3. Others discover the same...

    Pair Trading Article

Yes, TASC has published two pairs trading articles. The first was written by Stephane Reverre (also covered in Chapter 10 of his book The Complete Arbitrage Deskbook) and was geared towards multi-day trades. The second was written by Mark Conway and Aaron Behle (in Chapter 2 of their book...

    Will war actually be bullish?

Most people tend to be pro-war as long as someone else is doing the fighting for them.

    Will war actually be bullish?

I agree with your former point and disagree with the latter. I think we're just exceedingly paranoid after 9/11. Most Americans are scared, and they're willing to believe anything after that horrific day. In 1991, we had a just cause for repelling the invasion of Kuwait. Today, if you listen...

    Will war actually be bullish?

I think this year's war will be the antithesis of 1991. That year was "sell the war, buy the win". This year will be "buy the anticipation of winning the war, sell the win". The onset of the 1991 Persian Gulf war was rather quick, so all the market could do was react badly. This year, we have a...

    Any RealMoney Pro users?

Just subscribe to Todd Harrison's sheet Minyanville.com. $79 per year can't be beat, and the guy is a better trader than all the RealMoney "traders" put together. Further, Todd H. is starting to share his technical insights and settings: very cool.

what do you guys think about this?

It's easy to understand why this guy has all the beer money he needs. He is a master at sleight of hand, and here's why: "Curiously, TFP does not predict the CLOSE of the S&P very well but is astonishingly good at predicting the OPEN! This opens up the novel idea of the "Night Trader", run...

    portfolio of systems testing

I might add that even TS7 will not completely restore the features that were ripped out of TS 2000i. Maybe TS will get back to the future in TS8. The worst part is that one cannot import external data sources and yet they refuse to provide a data feed with a comprehensive set of market indices.

    portfolio of systems testing

WL has overtaken TradeStation. The features announced for TS7 are basically bells-and-whistles for day traders and wholly lacking in vision. By the way, does anyone know if WL provides an interface to the data feed stream, and if not, do they plan to do so in WL3?
