I would also recommend wealth-lab but if you live in the US or Canada you must become a Fidelity customer to use it. Outside the US and you're fine however....

You should consider getting "Building Winning Systems with Tradestation". Good book, some useful systems (once they're modified). Also consider checking out the systems posted on the WL site. you'd need to translate them to easylanguage but they have some excellent systems posted to the WL...

And DON'T USE ETRADE!!!!! Consider IB, MBTrading, fidelity before Etrade or scottrade.... and avoid TD Waterhouse like that fill you got was at 6.30.....because that's where it would have been with TD (and I do understand that's below you limit price ):D
