    Collective2 hacked

They charge you a monthly fee if you subscribe to any systems via their site. Nobody would want to submit their credit card info every month....

    TWS Advisor Acct Bug

I've been using an advisor account for 4+ years without any major problems (sure TWS problems but they were not related to the advisor account). Who knows what's going on in the demo account....

    TWS IP restrictions

FYI it is now working, I guess the overnight reset fixes it. Would be nice if the account management page mentioned that when you change it.

    TWS IP restrictions

I am trying to switch over to a new dedicated server and needed to change my account login IP restrictions. I made the change but now TWS will not let me in from the new address I added. Do I need to wait for an overnight reset to get in? If so this is absurb......

    Self-directed IRA accounts

Nope, you're still screwed. You might as well just sell your house and turn over the proceeds to the IRS.

    Self-directed IRA accounts

It's simple, every single IRA account in the country violates the law, so we're all screwed. Note there is a big difference between the IRS wanting your money and them getting it.

    Self-directed IRA accounts

Thanks for the link. I'd have to guess that clause is a touch more than most brokers use (IB for example has: This is not actually a loan of existing assets but a promise to reimburse them for debits. I'm sure the IRS would claim this disallows the IRA but they are also not impartial (they...

    Self-directed IRA accounts

Re-reading this, what does this have to do with futures? Most brokers require this for stocks, mutual funds, or whatever. It's of course more likely to blow up an account with futures than with stocks, but not impossible. Good luck to the IRS in finding all these accounts .... and I don't...

    Roth IRA Conversion at IB

From IB's customer service: Please be advised that IB is in the process of allowing internal Roth conversions and the process should be operational in the early part of 2010.

    Roth IRA Conversion at IB

However I do note that page says: This leads me to believe they would cut a check for funds from a traditional IRA account held at IB to a third party account (say my checking account) and I'd then make a deposit to my Roth IRA account held at IB (from my checking account). The withdrawal...

    Roth IRA Conversion at IB

Maybe they will reconsider, apparently starting in 2010 you do not need to convert from a 401k to a traditional IRA first, then to a roth, you can go from a 401k directly to a roth. Would IB maybe allow you to transfer the money and fill out the forms yourself?
