Looking for delta in IB TWS

Right click on the column heading in the portfolio tab and select "insert column before..." then select "greeks" then "delta" To make it delta neutral buy or short the number of shares in the opposite direction of the straddle's delta. So if the delta is -0.25, then buy 25 shares of the...

Does python have toolboxes like matlab statistics/machine learning, wavelets, differential equations

Pff. "Dynamic" typing is "no" typing. I'd much rather say what a variable is up front instead of all this magical hand-waving. In spite of my bitching I still do use Python for some tasks. Things like web scraping and data massaging are way easier in Python than in my bread-and-butter...

How to find a stock's float?

Back from when I was following Spydertrader's thread about Jack Hershey methods I recall float being important for selecting stocks.

Does python have toolboxes like matlab statistics/machine learning, wavelets, differential equations

I searched for "braces python" and "strong typing python" but they both came back with no hits :D

    Charting stock option spreads

If you're referring to risk graphs, thinkorswim does this pretty well. For more sophisticated option spread analysis there's also OptionVue and Option Net Explorer.

this option is only sensitive when mkt go against it

These are currency options, not stock options. IV can go down at the same time as the underlying goes down.

Tweetdeck sucks ,as does twitter. But is there a

LOL I'm such a geek. I just cobbled together a Python script to follow any hashtags or tweeters I want using the streaming interface. The Twitter streaming API is a very fast (low latency) interface and gets tweets instantly. The stock Twitter interface has considerable delay when new tweets...

Not *all* of them. :D One could say the same of the stock market in general.

    Bitcoin multi-year forecasts

In the thread: whiners that missed out to the early adopters and are now trashing it like sore losers. :D

Actually Twitter doesn't really suck per se. They have a nice API and excellent Python support for it. Should be easy enough for some script kiddie to write.

Yup, same. It reeks of insecurity/neediness, something that sets off my spider-sense.

    Rookie Question of Fills

I never look at bid/ask sizes and get reasonable fills all the time. The thing is I only trade super liquid indexes and ETFs like SPY. For individual stocks it's trickier. Sticking with stocks with a minimum price (maybe $20 or $30) and a minimum average daily volume (maybe 1M shares)...

    Rookie Question of Fills

I assume Robert Morse will chime in, but yes that ask is legit and must be filled. That said, you would never buy at the ask anyway. The usual process is to place a limit order at the mid and wait. Then slowly increase your bid in small increments until you fill.

    newbies questions to bitcoins

Every transaction is traceable in the blockchain, so yes strictly speaking. That said, if you acquired BTC via darknet (anonymous) transactions and spent them on darknet, then you're not traceable. (Unless of course you're caught in an FBI sting and used your real life name and/or address on...
