    The loneliness of success

Most of my friends are successful people in their own right. Doctors, lawyers, business people, inventors, and more. We are interested in a lot of different areas so we enjoy sharing our successes as they rarely overlap others in our group. No egos involvement, just the joy of sharing triumphs...

"Last Trade" Price Outside Of Bid And Ask

I long ago gave up with putting the last trade column in my options chain. It was worse than useless, it was distracting and consumed time I should have devoted to making my trades according to my rules.

    The loneliness of success

What do you mean by you can't talk about your trading. Can't in my lexicon means you are unable for some reason. Or do you just choose not to?

Iron Condors ? how many should we have

There is no debate in my mind. If I want to communicate with others in the industry then I conform with the industry's definition. These debates are entertaining, but of no practical value.

Iron Condors ? how many should we have

I did not trade weeklies at first. After paper trading them for a while I saw little difference between the weekly and the last week of a monthly with respect to trading credit spreads. I have benefited several times by combining RUT with either the NDX or the SPX. One was overrun and the...

Iron Condors ? how many should we have

There is nothing wrong with the trade. I am in a nearly identical one, except I chose $20 strike difference. My comments were directed at this trade in isolation. I'll try to explain. I trade credit spreads exclusively. Forming Iron Condors is an artifact of opening the companion spread. I...

Perhaps you would like to be specific about what I wrote that shows a lack of understanding.

Iron Condors ? how many should we have

Your choice of shorts are identical to mine. You are in one index (RUT) and in one time frame (JUN 11). This is definitely not my comfort zone. If you trade the IC as a unit, then your cash reserve is not required to implement an exit. You did not specify your management or exit strategy...

long OTM puts at expiration - why the nasty surprise?

An option contract is the "right" to do something. The buyer (long position) owns this right. The seller incurs the "obligation" to perform should the owner (buyer) exercise his right. If you were long (buyer), unless you exercised your right explicitly or implicitly by prior arrangement with...

IV is Cheap now, some trade suggestion

VIX @ 15.32 is quite low. Premiums are low. Why a straddle as opposed to my favorite; vertical spreads combined to form an Iron Condor?

Opinions on Red Options advisory service?

Don't use price as your main criteria. I have found quite a bit of great stuff available for free. Some services to which I subscribed were great value for the price. And worse yet, some that cost hundreds of dollars a month were, in my opinion, junk.
