MAC is the best trading hardware platform. few simple reasons.

I use my Mac for personal, non business related things. Mac's excel at integration of their hardware and software interconnectivity. But as for using a Mac for anything business, outside of video and audio editing, is just to costly. PC's by far are the more efficient business computing device...

United States Proposes Issuing Tax Refunds In Form of Treasury Notes (IOUs)

This will piss China off, not gonna happen. But with the amateur in chief in charge anything is possible. I wonder at what end of the yield curve these would be issued at? The best part was: Together these moves would increase savings participation for this group of workers to 80% from 15%...

New wave of mortgage resets in 2010-12

Looks like a W shaped recovery. Over the past 4 years there has been a high correlation with the SP 500 as it relates to mortgage reset. Market swings have been exacerbated to the down side when you have had a large amount of low credit quality tranches resetting. With high unemployment, the...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Thanks, Sweeney from the AFL-CIO has pushed the transaction tax since atleast 1998. The fact that the Financial Services Roundtable strongly opposes such a tax is something to take comfort in, after all they are the most powerful lobbying group in Washington. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't...

    Peak Water

I hope people don't forget that water isn't a finite commodity. Unlike fossil fuels, water can be recycled and be brought to market relatively easily. The worlds water reserves are easily provable lol.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

No problem rsikit, this points to the fact that a unilaterally self imposed tax on financial transactions by the US is almost zero. Governments are very wary of killing the golden goose. The Financial Services Roundtable also opposes financial transaction taxes. US bankers also opposed the...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

There will be NO Tobin tax proposal coming out of London and the government doesn't support the idea of one. Government officials, e.g. Alistair Darling, chancellor, said no such taxes were under consideration. Mr Darling insists that the banking industry in London should continue to play a...

Tim Geithner scheduled to speak this Saturday

I would agree he has been largely ineffective as head of Treasury, but my question is what would be the alternative coming out of the Obama administration? His removal could open pandoras box of lunacy, at least with Geithner you know what you're getting.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Has anyone looked into Rep. Kanjorski's possible take on this, I know he's was in Europe just recently lobbying for hedge funds against the proposed EU proposals on hedge fund's and seemingly won some consessions from them. I ask because he's chairman of the US House subcommitte on capital markets.
