    Pricing for Executions

Interactive Brokers doesn't charge or pay anything. .01/share up to 500, .005 over 500, $1 minimum. No other charges. Nice and simple - just the way I like it.

    10:10 Spike?

You know, this indicates to me just how ridiculous the market can be. How much impact on a company's profitability could the arrest of a few thugs really have? Every time I think people might be getting a little more reasonable about the market, something like this happens. I would think...

In fast moving market, IB is a joke

Quotes were bad during that "rally", but I didn't try to execute any trades during the minute or so that things were slow. How was order execution? In the past, my execution has been okay even if quotes were slow. I wish IB would take whatever measures it needs to overcome these lags. I...

    Dividends

I don't know of a sight that lists dividends for all sights, but I have been looking for a sight that would give dividends and ex-dividend dates for the Nasdaq 100. Anyone know of such a sight? Thanks for any help.

    Nasdaq ?

I'm not with a pro firm, but I trade with level one. It has been so long since I traded with level two that my opinion might not be worth much, but I don't have much confidence in level two. Even at level one a lot of this size shown is fake (there is really a lot more most of the time).

    Is IB that good?

I think that most of the bad quotes I have seen are due to ARCA. If you see a locked or crossed bid, ARCA is probably to blame. I wish ARCA would fix their problems or go broke - I sometimes wonder of the "bad" quotes at ARCA are accidental.

    QQQ NQ Components

Thanks for the help. I will have to sit down and work with this.

    QQQ NQ Components

I am feeling a little dense, but I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Can someone direct me to a list of stocks and number of shares for QQQ and NQ. For example, if I buy 1000 QQQ, how many shares of each component stock does that represent. If I buy 1 NQ, how many shares of each...

THE ARBITRAGE AND SPREAD TRADING THREAD

This has me thinking, but I'm having some trouble finding a bit of information I would like. Can anyone tell me where I can find a weighted list of the DJIA? I know it is price weighted, so maybe I should just calculate it, but I was hoping there might be a sight that kept a current list of...

    Arbing SSF's

I tried trading a few of these, and like swipe said it is tough to get filled between the spread. If you are patient and the market goes your way, you will eventually be at the inside and get filled. This is usually at a point where the MM can arb a profit - if you could be the one to get this...

How to treat the 'cannot pull the trigger' symtome

Reduce your size to one that is comfortable and doesn't make you hesitate. As confidence increases, start trading bigger a little at a time.

    Saved

I was saved from myself this morning. About 30 seconds before the market opened I entered a limit order to buy 200 shares of MKSI at the offer 13.40 (I thought). Shortly after I was filled, I realized that I had just paid 15.399! I entered the order by clicking on the offer (TWS) so either...

    Pixel ratios @ 15" vs. 17" vs. 19" LCD's

I don't know a lot about this, so I may not understand your question, but I run an 18" and 15" LCD monitor together. I expand the desktop over both of them, and I run an Excel spreadsheet that uses both monitors. The 15" is 1024x768, and the 18" is 1280x1024. The cells and print are about the...

looking for resource on calculating margin

I think it is probably more important to have a clear understanding of your brokers policies than what is legal - unless you are writing a paper or just want to understand. Even if your broker uses different (legal) guidelines, than what is allowed, you will have to deal with your broker's...

    A Good Start?

I would trade in real-time using the method you have been practicing and plan to use. If you plan on only doing a few trades a week, than your plan is fine. If you plan on day-trading, I would open an account with more than 25k so that you don't have to worry about PDT rules. Since you are...

Pros & cons of Dell vs. Gateway...

The last two computers I have bought have been Gateway. One is a PIII laptop I have had for almost three years and the other is a P4 I have had for about a year and a half. AT the time I purchased them, Gateway had much better deals than DELL for what I was looking for. What little tech...

What's up with IB speed today?

Towards the close today, I didn't even have quotes showing up on TWS for several stocks - I was still connected though. Quotes and orders have seemed to "bunch up" for several seconds and then update all at once at times for the last few days. I'm not sure what is going on, but it isn't good.

    Ssf

In this case I am buying AMAT and selling NVLS or opposite. Yes, as soon as I get a fill on the first leg, I fill the second. If you own a February future and sell a March future, I don't see how that is any different than just selling the February future - unless you are arbing an...

    Ssf

I read your other thread, thanks for the info. I think you would be right about the spreads of I didn't trade pairs the way I do. It is important for me the fill the second leg of the spread as soon as the first leg fills. So, I can wait for the first fill, but I have to take the second fill...

    Ssf

I know there have been some threads on this, but they all seem to be dead. I just wanted to share my experience trading these for the first time today. It was suggested on another thread that I might want to try SSF to deal with some trouble I was having shorting KLAC (thanks hii), so today...
