    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

NO. I don't save or gain nor am I looking to gain or avoid loosing or not paying for anything. If I am theoretically long at 1800.00 and the market goes to 1700.00, then closing the position to open a new one at 1700.00 on the December expiry is not the same as rolling to the March 1800.00...

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

I am aware of IB being another TD like broker. It's the data feed that you don't have a choice with at IB. If that should change, they would be my next best choice. Thanks for bringing new light to a topic that has gone way too deep off track.

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

You asked me the same question earlier and I have already answered it. There's nothing radical or nothing new in what I am asking here which is, I can and have been able to do for quite some time in trading since I've been with TD. Is there a newer question?

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

NO and YES. I think the "thinkorswim" platform is lightyears ahead of the competition. Trading with TD you do not have to close out your positions, whether for a loss or profit, just because expiration forces you. Why do it if you don't have to? Is that simple. Is there something wrong with...

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

Is there no IB, FCM, etc., here willing to step up to the plate? TD Ameritrade must be loving it.

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

I did. A true trade scenario is given in reponse to Scataphagos and for anyone who believes this is all made up story. If you reacall last week's FOMC announcement on Wednesday. I was long on the ES from a few weeks earlier as the market began to creep lower and trade going against me. On last...

Rithmic Announces Nonrenewal of Zen-Fire Use

I was with Dorman/Mirus/Zenfire and their new technology BigTick before switching to AMP Futures/CQG due to constant service disconnects. CQG is solid as a rock whereas Zenfire and BigTick both proved to be less stable for my domain. I put out there what I was told are plans for Mirus from an IB...

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

You misunderstand my original question. I have no problems with paying commissions, etc., blah, blah, blah. Closing out an ES position that you may be long much higher than current market and then opening a new one at the prevailing price, let's say as an example lower by 80 points, is not the...

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

Other than TD Ameritrade (thinkorswim) I am find it very difficult to find a broker that allows you to roll to the same single future contract(s) from expiration to the next or calendar spread as it is the more appropriate platform functionality. I trade with TD and AMP Futures/NinjaTrader/CQG...

    Rolling Forward A Futures Position

Anyone trading with a broker besides TD (thinkorswim) that allows closing off a near term, possibly expiring futures position, and simultaneously opening the same number of contracts in a further expiration month (calendar roll)?

Trading with $0 commissions -- "Robinhood"

I guess the argument is. Even if you are paying $9.99 at Ameritrade, they are still making you pay in other ways. They just screw you an extra 10 bucks. There's no reason you can't get a lower rate than $9.99 TD. Commissions/fees are always negotiable especially if you do a decent amount of...

Rithmic Announces Nonrenewal of Zen-Fire Use

This is the response I got from from an Introducing Broker I would prefer to keep anonymous: Zen-Fire will continue to work properly without any disruptions for Dorman clients. Zen-Fire will only be exclusive for Dorman IB's.
