What's going on with angela merkel??

She keeps pushing the can down the road, & it becomes more & more expensive for GERMANY to stem the crisis. The ECB holds banks shaky cloleteral, buys PIIGS bonds, sends money to IMF, 500B fund, and still a lot more to come because the crisis is still in full force). After recently reading about...

Best capitalized brokers which does not hypothecate?

Be on the safe side, have a cash account. If you just have a small amount of margin you can be transferd over to UK..and your whole account is in danger, not worth it. Now a lot of brokers are not engaged in that practice, but there is no assurance that they can not decide one blue Monday, that...

I would be very concernd, from the responses here, it looked that if you never margin then you should be safe, its not the case. Is there any firm that would allow stock registery on clients name, if there is one they have my business.

Why do Europeans give up sovereignty?

Why, because of german pressure. Germany has succesfully blocked any other plan all the way along, now the whole euro is in danger so germany comes up with great treaty change that would somehow save italy & spain & france & belgium from banckroptcy (now one knows how that will happen.) The...

InteractiveBrokers "hyper-hypothecates" $14.5b of Customer Funds?

def posted on 6 forums here yesterday, but today he is very busy, he probably expects the conversation to die. My solution as others point out, if you have less then 500k, keep cash and equity with 1 firm, and futures at the second firm. If you have big account keeps it split with a few brokers...

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

2 things, if you only look out for yourself, then don't be part oof the Euro, period. And stop teaching the UK, how not to be selfish when it comes to the transaction tax. I can't believe how smart the UK was not to fall in this Euro mess, If the UK would have been in the Euro, there is no...

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

Wow how selfish. Germany benefitng from the euro for the last 12 years while other countries where loosing. Now wehn the whole eurozone (world)economy is in disaster, Germany willing to let PIIGS-BFG and the euro collapse because its afraid they will take a little risk for themself. Shame on...

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

The problem is that not only would it hurt Euro and Germany it also puts at risk the whole world economy. When UK, U.S, Russia will wake up for the risk, will it be 1942 already? Some more world pressure now (mabye a little moe IMF help), can help avoid an economy WWIII..

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

How are france, netherlands, spain, austria irresponsible (all have their yields increase sharply) while Germany with deficits 80% to GDP are the most responsible? These people have a selfish colture which comes back to bite them time and time again, they have started to feel the pain today...

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

Looks like this is the route they are taking, a very risky journey indeed. In the mean time Germany started to fill the heat today, if the "do nothing" approach continues, they will probaly fil a lot more.

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

I think its a selfish additude, the whoe euro should crumble but Germany should not take some risk. However if the euro falls apart, it might be even more expensive for Germany as well,

Looks like the stupid committee failed, automatic cuts to happen

The problem is that nobody cares. Companies, wall street, politicians, lobyists, and the media all are pretty happy with the current system. Individules do not matter these days, they have no voice in a time when everything is run by money. The only thing we individuals can do, is to choose...

Looks like the stupid committee failed, automatic cuts to happen

We need one thing, stop the infulance of money & lobyist in washington. A good start would be 1)Stopping this long costly wastefull campaigns. 2)Put a cap on the amount that could be donated by a person or org. 3)Put a cap that can be spent on any capmaign. 4)Anyone who has donated for a...

Is germany throwing the world into disaster yet again??

Germany has a history of destroying it neigbors for its own good in the past. Now in the 21st century context, is history repeating itself?? Germany keeps denying any resonable solution that could stop contagion and a bank run in europe, and every week we hear of yet another europeen contry...
