    I feel like a traitor.

Forget all the rest, whether you owe them something or not. If they are giving you an inferior product, you should feel no guilt about leaving. It's as simple as that.

YM inverse Head & Shoulder NOW!

In the area you circled, the close (which is what you drew) varied from 1115.28 to 1347.45, a range of 20.8%. If you include the intra-month values, the low was 1078.95 and the high was 1372.20, a range of 27.2%. Even that "tight" area was has a range much wider than you 1-3% or your new 10%...

YM inverse Head & Shoulder NOW!

That tight band of 76 to 79 still had a 14% annual range, not 1-3%. In the last 923 months, only 12 months have ranges under 3% with the smallest being 2.2% (November 1944). And you argue that there are periods of over a year with ranges of less than 3%?

YM inverse Head & Shoulder NOW!

I downloaded all the DJIA data from Yahoo going back to 1928. Then I looked for the smallest 12 month range. The smallest 12 month range was August 51 to July 52 where the low was 254.7 and the high was 280.25 for a 10% range. Again, where do you see "periods were it gets stuck in 1-3%...

US Equity Markets will not go down

You should go buy some of those options from Tradesports. You will make a mint if you are right.

US Equity Markets will not go down

I like that Fibonacci number. ;-) According to Tradesports, the Cardinals have a 26.1%-28.9% chance of winning the division (behind the Seahawks and Rams) and a 1.5%-1.6% of winning the SuperBowl. The Bengals are just ahead with 1.7%-1.8%.

    Trading ES/YM -- Multi-day instead of Daytrading

The greatest hedge of all is to limit risk in the first place. I'm not saying those who use leverage and hedge are wrong. I user leverage, but I keep it within limits. I like to keep things simple. If I have a system that trades the S&P, I simply trade the ES. No fancy hedges on top of...

That's not so bad. But if the AZ Cardinals win it all, look at below!

    Trading ES/YM -- Multi-day instead of Daytrading

No stops or anything. My system is a weekly fundamental and technical system. It tells me what exposure I should have to the S&P and 10-year bond for the following week and I make the trade at Friday's close (or close to it). Actually, the trading is automated, but that's a different story...

    Trading ES/YM -- Multi-day instead of Daytrading

There's no reason you can't do this. Just because few people do it, doesn't mean it can't be done. I've been long-term trading the ES since March 2003 (and started trading the ZN just this month) and have made very good money doing so. Before that, I traded the SPY, SPX options, and baskets...

    Trading ES/YM -- Multi-day instead of Daytrading

I trade ES and ZN long term. Normally hold for weeks or months at a time. But why do you ask?

    E-mini S&P mental lapse

A 1 point move in the S&P moves the ES 1 point, which is $50 per contract.

    Weekly Close . . .

The S&P is bouncing off the 50 DMA. While it still appears like we are in a down trend, the shorts/bears need to be careful. It's probably best to wait and see which side wins before placing your bets.

    The Anti-Capitalistic Inquisition

Wasn't Vioxx approved by the FDA? Should they be sued? Maybe the federal government will have to go out of business.

Who here trades "retail" full time

I trade full time for myself and, in an average year, earn enough to barely survive. But I may get a job to increase my trading capital. The problem is that you never know whether the next year will be bad, average, or good. You need to have enough capital not just to earn enough in an...

Who here trades "retail" full time

I used REDI for a very short period of time (about a week). I hated it. But I know many who like it. FIX is a common interface to send message to a brokerage firm. IB offers FIX but it is quite expensive ($1,000 monthly minimum commission). Additionally, FIX is only for order information...
