As Stocks Reach New Highs, Investors Abandon Hedges With volatility at consistently low levels, more

Interesting post, thx The main problem with financial assets is that this is not the "fashion week". So you have zero interest to anticipate next mood / cycle, being contrarian / different. Because you will be broke then, fighting against the trend. Patience is key here. Finally, when...

David Einhorn made only 2% gain in 2017

in retrospective, easy to criticize ! So now, what is your opinion for 2018? I am interested. CM

buying two strike price calls on the same stock/date... does anybody do this?

1 Master futures first, easier to manage in term of risk control 2 You would be broke fast if you consider out of the money options are cheap. If they are cheap, there is a reason. 3 Better sell than buy options, except if you got excellent timing, so master futures first. CM

Good work, bad work, no work

There ain't no such thing as free lunch. 1% of people here are able to live with trading. So for 99%, better keep their good or bad work, and consider trading as a leisure. CM

    Understanding Reversals

I totally agree. To play reversal, don't watch 1 min timeframe, there are too many fake reversals. IMO, 1 min is for 1/2 pts scalpers (majority of losers), not reversal traders. CM

cool stories from a proprietary trading firm

CIS and BNF apply same strategy : buy/short at the opening stocks with huge interest and take profit fast. And yes, compounding is a powerful thing, I agree. CIS started with 10 000 dollars 15 years ago. But this is another subject CM

cool stories from a proprietary trading firm

WRONG, "part art part science" Lougar ! Again you talk you talk and you know nothing ! CIS and BNF day trade japanese stocks for years, and some international futures. ZERO swing trade. It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt CM

Amazing. I’ve tried to give away my methodology...

Sorry, but what do you mean "no one today trades price"? You mean price and only price, without volumes, without graph? Because lots of people call "price action " 1 order flow trading 2 or trading with graphs but without indicators (Bob Vollman...) Could you enlight me please? CM

Is chart trading dead? (At least when it comes to ES)

WORST advice I have ever read / heard. But hey, this is lawrence 'part art part science' lugar. Of course you should look for regular fish / money and not look for home runs. If you can get a big shot, that s fine, but first you need to be regular. Discipline, routine and process, days after...

COST is a safe short at 162

Don't know, 200 dollars? 210 ? 220 ? No matter where it could go, no interest to short a stock in a bull market. Good for Hajimow and losers, bad for you and I. If you want to buy puts, there are tons of better ideas. CM

Breaking Through: Linda Raschke, Part 2

Ex ? Current husband? Does she already look for a new husband?! I would hate if my wife would call me his "current" husband :( Trading seems to be difficult with her personal life ! Bad :( CM

COST is a safe short at 162

Really? I would not talk about negative trend for a stock that made all time high 4 days ago. Let me remind you Hajimow told us Costco was a "safe" short @162. Lol. Generally, agreeing with Hajimow is a losing bet with 95% certainty. Zero interest to short this good stock, buy pullbacks. Strong...

A post every trader should read, especially new traders.

You are wrong. Of course 1987 crash was the end of the world, not 2000 tech bubble bursting lol. In 1987, there were no way to exit. Your money and account were frozen, brokers didn't take orders. Too many new comers, buying market after 5 years of non-stop bull market. Massive suicides, same...

A post every trader should read, especially new traders.

Do your homework. Read or reread Market Wizards Read More money than God 1987's krack is well explained in these books, with tons of anecdotes. For example how Stan Druckenmiller who was dead long Friday 16th of October understood his big mistake before Monday's opening. How Paul Tudor Jones...

Trolling again. Boring. Who are you to judge relevance / irrelevance of Minervini's post ??? Are you willing to compare yourself to Minervini? Seriously ? Does a huge amount of open interests mean the smart people know something?

Your question is trivial. Of course, high open interests / volume mean insiders, hedge, smart money etc try to benefit before the herd. That was true 100 years ago, this is true, this will be true in the future. For example, in Europe, today Nexans (NEX FP) is doing nothing but with abnormal...

    BABA

Ironchef : of course, you can hold. On a LT basis, BABA is bull. This is kind of growth stock that can uptrend for years, and there are not so many stocks like this. So, proba to see again your cost base at 85 dollars : IMO close to zero for the coming years. Anyway, in term of money / risk...
