You are correct, NinjaTrader will not backfill with IB when working with bars that are built from ticks. This is because IB does not support historical tick data.

NinjaTrader can fill a gap on disconnect. Upon reconnect the user can "Reload" all historical data.

"Eds volume price bars" are not a NinjaTrader system indicator or entity. Sounds like a user generated add on, I am not sure where you can download it since I have never heard of it.

GOMI is the handle for a user in the BMT forum. He has developed a value 3rd party add on for the NinjaTrader platform. I believe his code is free but you have to download it from the BMT forum.

This is true for TT X-Trader however, it is not true for TT FIX Adapter which is what most 3rd party applications connect through. TT FIX Adapter does not support encryption through the internet.

I am not an IT expert so I am not qualified to answer your questions. What I can and have answered is that the data that travels through the internet between NinjaTrader and TT is not encrypted. This is a fact based on a response I received to your question from my technical contact at TT.

That is not what I am saying. To clarify, transmissions over the internet between TT servers and any connected application are not encrypted. Your NinjaTrader installation itself is not vulnerable.

This is not true for all 3rd party TT connected applications including NinjaTrader. TT FIX messaging through the internet is not currently encrypted. TT will let me know if and when they have plans to support this.
