    Rates unchanged-> market falls, why?

    Also, Buffet came out and said he is not seeing any economic recovery in his 80 odd businesses: http://www.cnbc.com/id/31526130 I think that tempered enthusiasm. I'm hoping for Boeing to tank into the 30's, then i'm loading up.

    Rates unchanged-> market falls, why?

    Buy on rumor, sell on news. I've been noticing the S&P been trending down all day. Wow, Boeing just popped up on my radar. Holy crap, thought I missed the boat on that one. Might get a chance to load up.

    Video game industry is looking pretty rough. I think one promising technology on the horizon is OnLive. Currently it's private, but i'm hoping they go public. OnLive is a game changer.

    Had a huge bounce today off the intraday low at $20.50 with strong upside throughout the day. The company is broken with lots of outside competition starting to make forays into its bread and butter of used games. Video games sales are taking a hit too, lately. I see another chance at a dead...

    Anyone else think MSFT is overbought?

    Don't hold MSFT for 30 years. No large cap stock she be held forever. MSFT trades between 200-300 billion mkt cap. Sell it when it hits the low 30's, and watch it go back to mid 20's

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Actually, survivor bias is something I should consider. The Yahoo data will not work because of this. Also, I need to know every stock in the universe to download the data. I would just rather have a more complete database myself. I think 50 years of data will be fine.

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Not that granular. End of day prices works for me. But I do need access to some basic characteristics of the stock, e.g. market cap.

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Ok, can you suggest a source to buy?

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Yahoo and Google Finance? Do they allow you to download their database of stocks? I need the hard data local. You can't run simulations on Yahoo finance.

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Thanks for the response, guys. No, I need a systematic way of doing it vs. Excel. I've had this idea for quite some time, but I need to backtest the strategy to see how well it performs. At the very least, it requires me to do a linear regression fit on stock prices for a specified time...

    Linear regression fit of stock prices

    Hey folks, I'm somewhat new to technical analysis, but is there something in the standard bag of tricks that shows you if the stock price in a given time frame fits a line? Or, if it is trending upwards or downwards (the slope of the linear fitted line) ? And how closely the prices fit that...

    GM 1 Strike Puts

    One thing I have learned is this, the next time you bet on a sure bankrupcty where the common will get screwed, go on longer dated options. The courts will deem the shares to be worthless. Once it does, you get a cash settlement on the options of 100x the strike price. That's insane...

    What is your favorite active & exciting low priced stocks?

    I wouldn't buy HEB now. Highly speculative, but I got in a couple of weeks ago and now i'm up 78%. I cashed out half the shares at 128%, so the rest is there as a gamble on the FDA approval or not.

    What is your favorite active & exciting low priced stocks?

    GM 1 Strike Puts

    Uhhh, nah, i'm staying pat. I went into the trade knowing I might lose it. That's why I went into the puts. Didn't know if the gov't would bail them out or not. I've got other trades to make up for the loss.

    GM 1 Strike Puts

    Give us 2 more weeks. We still got time. :-) That's why I never bet more than 1% of my portfolio on options. You never know.

    Will this FINALLY make MSFT worth investing in?

    No, actually, it wasn't created by that guy either. The system is based on a company MSFT acquired awhile ago that has a revolutionary video camera device. It is able to capture the Z plane (if you remember basic math, the XY plane is two dimensional, the Z plane adds depth) and translate it...

    GMCR giving me the jitters

    When IOMEGA came out with the Zip Drive in the late 90's, it was a pretty big hit. The hype around it was out of control. The stock price went from something like sub $2 to almost $300 in a year. Pure mania. GMCR has a similiar feel to it. By the way, dood, don't go 100% into any trade...

    GMCR giving me the jitters

    Pile into this trade. There's so much momentum behind this one, on top of all the shorts. They have so much news coming down the pipeline with distribution and partnerships with huge names, like McDonalds, Cuisinart, Walmart. I've seen this before, many times, and you can't fight it. Go...
