when the forex market start everyday?

Completely true! Although this month all the action has been in the Far East and London time has been so dull.

    who are the brokers

Not usually, they don't. They only cover the very largest trades or the ones from the clients they deem category A. As about 90% of all accounts blow up within 6 months they dont hedge any of the rest.

Link for list of US approved brokers

Not sure about your question, my fault. Do you mean you are about to get a second broker in the UK or a second prime broker -ie someone who quotes you prices you can trade on or someone who will clear your trades carried out through an ECN. If the latter - why have a second one? If you...

short USD, long EUR and CHF

I tend to only trade ona very short term bais so anything I say should be read with caution. However between now and the end of the year billions of dollars have to be repratiated to the States by US firms, following the tax amnesty. For the dollar to weaken against this back drop will be...

I thought Forex had no gap downs

Euro is very offered just below the figure - every time it goes 80 bid it is spanked. rather strangely Euro Swiss is so far unaffected...time to play!

I thought Forex had no gap downs

I havent trade with fxcm for over a year but still have their platform. If their prices are to be believed cable is more volatile than the euro at the moment. Moving up and down in 40 pip gaps. For what its worth I think the Euro is a raging sell on this news, if confirmed.

    current price on EUR/USD

I might have to get an account with Oanda. It would appear they were still quoting 1.2230 for 2 hours after the exit poll when it was obvious the euro would fall. They didnt change their price until the 'real' fx market opened.

I thought Forex had no gap downs

    Only exit polls so far.

I thought Forex had no gap downs

It can gap at any time, especially over the weekend. The reason today is the German election result - it looks like there will be a grand coalition - should be the worst possible scenario for the euro if it is confirmed.

Link for list of US approved brokers

Apologies, but living this side of the pond I am not as aware as I should be of the US regulatory set up. Could someone post the link for the site in the US that lists all approved FX brokers/delaers and their assets. What protection do you get if one of these brokers files for Chapter 11...

Best platforms for size trading on news?

How have you got on? Are you serious about it taking a minute to fill an order -surely that is unacceptable?

    Eur/gbp !

3 pips is huge and you are making it very difficult for yourself to succeed. If you think the rate is approximately half the euro dollar rate or a third the cable then your equivalent spreads are 6 pips and 9 pips respectively. Would you think you would make money on a 9 pip cable price?

For how long will we be able to trade the Forex?

Over the past decade or so there has been debate over the introduction of a Tobin tax to forex. This would be a tax added to every fx deal that would essentially make prop trading unfeasible and its aim is to stop the banks trading fx and supposedly wrecking economies etc. It has never been...

Whats the main difference between FX futures and FX?

There are some crazy myths about futures on both this thread and the 1001 other ones on the same topic. Yes there are some spot bucket shops but choose your broker carefully and there are good honest ones around. If you are with a spot broker and you are not happy then get another one. Always...

is buying GBP/USD at this level a good trade?

I don't agree with this I am afraid. It is pretty well known that the MPC in the UK tend to guide their actions by their quarterly inflation report. Unless there is something very signicant happening they only change rates in the month this report is published. The whole purpose of this...

    Rising wedge on the EUR/USD

This 1.1950 looks v important short term. If 1.1963 trades I will go long with a stop around 1.1920/30 depending on the 20 ema at the time.

is buying GBP/USD at this level a good trade?

Say you ran a position for a month you are saying your take profit is only 60pips; if ran for a year only 4.5 cents? Seems a very odd strategy when you seem prepared to run positions several (if not more) big figures against you.

is buying GBP/USD at this level a good trade?

How does the differential equate to 30%. The difference is down to less than 1% per annum - that is 5 pips per week! Indeed one of the reasons £ has been so weak is for this very reason - it used to be expensive to short cable but it isn't now.

Poll: How much $ do you on Trading tools and resources monthly?

The different type of Reuters are roughly between $500 and $1000 per month - depends what deal you can negotiate. I havent heard of Minute Wise but will check it out, thanks. I used to get DJ news direct but found on figure releases it was about 10-20 seconds slower than the other vendors.
