    Refco Account Security

So you think large or small funds with cash with Refco LLC will care about the difference -of course not. These situations are all about confidence and liquidity. Anyone with half a brain will take their cash out, or pull their line, straight away until the situation is resolved. As an...

Which FX broker? An illustrated answer.

If you feel the need to ask is your money safe then you should withdraw your cash without question. Would you put a trade on if there was a chance you would lose 100% of your margin? and if you are thinking of withdrawing your funds awhat are the other clients and banks thinking? Chances are...

    Refco- RFX

Why would anyone keep cash at refco at the moment? If it is purely an accounting issue then re-deposit your funds in a months time. If it is larger than that then thank the lord you got out. Call me old fashioned but what is the up-side to keeping your funds with them?

Which FX broker? An illustrated answer.

I think you are muddling up dealing with RBS when they act as a market maker to you and using RBS as your prime broker so that you can trade on an ECN like Lava or Hotspot.

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

I agree re balance sheets but 2 things should be remembered. 85-90% of margined traders blow up so bucket shops are a licence to print money. Of course one will go bust and so you should be careful which one you choose. However a 2 pip spread in euro dollar at all times is very valuable...

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

There is very little cable liquidity when it is volatile though and the spread can go very wide.

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

You've lost me. No they don't deliver and nor does the client as it is in effect a future or a NDF. Nothhing odd about that at all. As for your example I fail to see what you are trying to achieve or say. Apologies.

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

The "bucket" shops don't hedge trades in the market unless their exposure goes above a certain amount, say $20m. They work on the basis that 85-90% of clients get wiped out and there is therefore no point in covering trades and paying away some of the spread. This is why the conflict of...

    Considering a move to futures

No chance. In volatile markets the futures liquidity in cable is non existant and the prices go very wide. Forget 10 pips can be 50!

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

    No different at all.

Which FX broker? An illustrated answer.

Inter bank means inter bank ie between banks so by definition a non bank can't join in. It is no big deal and people should not get worked up that the world is against them - think like that and you have no chance. As a non-bank you have access to all sorts of advantages that a bank would love...

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

By implication you would not use them to trade news?

    RefcoFX vs. Oanda

Do Oanda mind people jobbing and trading on figures? I read somewhere (either here or on another board) that someone had a trade canceleld by Oanda sometime after he dealt. Is this anyone elses experience of Oanda?

Gdp On Thursday 29..want To Know Effect On Euro!!

Don't worry I wasn't upset. I would also point out that I also have very little intelligence.

Gdp On Thursday 29..want To Know Effect On Euro!!

Jesus, it is like speaking with children. I don't think even a child though would take a bet on there not being a 200 pip move in any floating currency in a given week. You stated the GDP revison would move the market hugely. You are entitled to your view but I think you are wrong. Sorry to...

Gdp On Thursday 29..want To Know Effect On Euro!!

UK CBI on Wednesday is a bigger figure to be honest. The revision of US GDP won't move the market move than 5 ticks - no way in the world it will move it a big figure. I would point out that it is the revision for Q2 - that is the period ending June - it is so out of date to make it...

    Key Week for EURUSD Traders

Not sure how much impact it will have but a large UK bank has to buy a lot of cable tommorow for the 11am fix.

    Key Week for EURUSD Traders

As I have said before I think there is a very good reason why the dollar is bid and it is the HIA. Between now and the end of the year US companies are going to repatriate billions of dollars and this huge flow underpins the dollar. 2006 should be different though - I think that all the talk...
