    50million at clip with FXCM

Not a good time to have done it as a long weekend in Europe and so desks winding down and did the save just after the Chicago figures. But hope it gives you an idea of spreads and volumes. Perhaps a small apology might be forthcoming iceberg!

    50million at clip with FXCM

I have quoted your post but hopefully the reply is relevant to a few other people who have asked questions. I do believe FXCM offers Currenex through prop fx - they dont charge brokerage but believe they widen the spread. I do clear through a prime broker and I would say the spread is...

Rumour that what you see is not what you get?

50 lots is not large. You would be able to get it done in futures apart from when it is very volatile, especially after figures. At these time the spread is about 8 ticks in about 30. If you went via the ECNs especailly Currenex, maybe lava and hotspot, then you can do 250 lots with no...

    50million at clip with FXCM

Currenex is usually good for about 160 million on a 3 pip spread for euro dollar. on the one pip spread it is good for about 30 million. Anyone trading moe than 50k with FXCM is insane, in my opinion.

    Good news feed for forex

It is the same content but presented slightly differently. I like the IFR feed but would regard it as more a commentary service than a news feed ie it comments on what has moved markets and why rather than splash the headline and let you make your own call.

Oanda is now the Largest Forex Broker

A couple of points. If the institutional Hotspot platform went into liquidation then the trader has no exposure apart from maye not having to pay that month's fees. No cash aprt from fees goes to Hotspot and any exposure is to your clearer or prime broker. I imagine that the opposite is true...

pros and cons of these forex brokers

I will try and answer your questions but think it is a shame that people can't have a discussion without resorting to sarcasm and sniping comments. Of course people have differing opinions - that is why this is a discussion board and also there is a market. Liquidity is an issue, even if you...

pros and cons of these forex brokers

Next time a big figure is due for release watch the volume on the CME for its most liquid contract, the Eur/$. Max number of lots is tiny (perhaps 40) until the market has found its level a few seconds later. Then get currenex, hotspot and lava and see the volumes you can trade. I...

Time To Get Down To It

Coinzy If you dont think the interest differential is the key - look at the reaction to the IFO and M3 this morning - no other reason for Euro rally.

Time To Get Down To It

I am saying that, for the time being at least. The Fed have put rates up from 1% to 4.50% and now no one knows where the peak of rates for the US is. The best guess is somewhere between 4.75 and 5%. Meanwhile the ECB have started hiking rates but have stressed theyare not following the Fed...

Looking to trade professionally, directly with the banks

If you are trading on a wholesale type platform then you are expected to trade like a professional trader. You might get away with hitting a frozen price once but do it twice and I would expect your account to be closed.

    Clocks....

Damn Americans are always so backward and slow. Their failure to put the clocks forward on time mean those of us in the UK have to work to about 10pm this Tuesday.

Brokerage is on top of the spread - but you can put in bids and offers so no spread if you want. Currenex is generally good for about 25 million in 1 pip spread. Currently for 3 pip spread you can do 150 million.

Looking to trade professionally, directly with the banks

On currenex euro dollar is usally 1 pip and cable 2, although it does depend on which Prime Broker or hub you are on. Brokerage is around $20 per million dollars traded. I dont use FXall.

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

I know your post was tongue in cheek but I now refuse to open an account with any firm where I have to wire the funds outside the UK, especially the US. Over the past few years the only problems I have had are firms in the US (4 times) and Switzerland, once.
