    J-Trader, X-Trader and TWS

Is any of you familiar with all these tree Futures Trading Platforms? I currently trade ES and use J-Trader. It's fast and reliable, but not very customizable. For example, I'd like to have hot keys to sell and buy contracts at market. Do you know if I could do that with X-Trader and TWS?

    Trin, Premium anf Vix

It seems that many SP futures traders use the TRIN, VIX and PREM indicators. I only use the Tick on one minute chart. Does any of you know how to use them and if they actually are of any help?

Benefits of trading alongside successful traders

I traded for several months at proprietary shops and now I am trading from home. In my case, trading from home is the best way because when it gets boring I can take a walk and make as much noise as I can without annoying people around me. Also, I save a lot of commuting time and I am planning...

    Figuring out e-minis

m c a98 I agree with you. Every day you can find a few set ups trading ES. But you need to execute many more than 3 to 7 trades per day to qualify as a scalper.

    Figuring out e-minis

I like ES for daytrading, but not for scalping. ES have all the advantages reported in the previous posts in this thread. I also like ES better than equities for daytrading. Just to clarify some terminology, it seems that daytraders are traders who don't hold overnight positions while...

    Figuring out e-minis

Yes. There are no simple rules. However, most traders look for some signals to get in a trade. Scalpers, by definition, should make a lot of trades and also look for some signals. I can not figure out what they are looking for! Trading Es is mainly based upon charts and levels. Within one...

    Figuring out e-minis

I really do not understand how people can scalp futures. I trade ES and the minimum stop I use is 1 point for ES are quite volatile. Moreover, I enter a position and have no time constraint. I only have some price targets that vary depending upon charting formations, key levels and Fibonacci...

    Financial instruments and daytrading

I traded listed for several months and ES for a couple. I think that Jay is right about limit and stop orders. I also think that speed of execution depends on the platform you use. From my experience, ES fills on limit and stop orders are much better than fills for listed stocks. Specialists...

    Financial instruments and daytrading

Do you think that daytrading listed, nasdaq, futures on equity indexes, FX and commodities is pretty much the same? Any advantage trading a particular instrument? Did any of you traded more than one instrument and has some bad and good experiences to share?

Why Are You Buying On Colin Powell's Report??

This is a reply to the original post If you look at the volume, you will see that buyers were concentrated within a few minutes. For example, look at volume for the E-mini SP500, 5 and 1 minutes charts, around 12:30 am EST. Not many were actually buying into Powell's speech.

Communists occupied buildings in the '60s and these still remain occupied... More than 20 million people were killed in Soviet Union... Crime rate in Italy and other continental European countries is sky high because they have been run like candy stores during the last 30 years... Blind...

ES between 3 and 3:15 pm CST on 2/4/03

What happened on 2/4/2003 between 3 and 3:15 pm CST? ES quotes went as high as 948 from 847 in 3 minutes? Did Globex have a technical problem or somebody was trying to clean up stops? Is this common?
