What salary would it take for you to quit this?

sounds like you've answered your own question. stay a trader; don't return to corporate america. why would you even consider it? i know it's tempting and flattering that they want you, but it sounds like it would be a mistake.

    "Low maintenance" position trading

other than trading futures, which imho are best traded intraday, i agree with damian. and, for those times when you do crave the action, futures can be fun and profitable. this basically defines my style: some investing, more swing trading, and a dabble of futures for fun, profit, and...

    2500 AAPL shares

i think the others are right to suggest caution. no one wants to see you go through a painful blowup, and i think a lot of us speak from experience on that one....i would suggest trading smaller at first, something you feel you have a grip on, not necessarily aapl, and keep meticulous records to...

Transition from Beginner to Pro Trader. How?

i completely agree with this assessment, but i would add: keep a good record. log each entry and exit, why you made the trade. looking back over you logbook helps you learn from your mistakes. i analyze each trade once it's over to determine what i did right or wrong.

    New Trader--Trading plan

dr. alexander elder wrote several books that are great, but i would start with COME INTO MY TRADING ROOM. he writes principles in there that took me years to learn, and gives some valuable insights which even more experienced traders can learn from. i used to shun books as well, until i...

What salary would it take for you to quit this?

okay, i'll bite. how much is the salary? $$$$$ second question: is it more than you have ever made before? third question: is it more than you make ( on a monthly basis) trading? having done both, i'd prefer the trading, but that's just me. besides, it makes a difference how much...

this appears to work really well with google, for example. this is a stock i know, so i may try your method with it. google is also good for another reason: supports and resistance levels are fairly predictable. the problem i have had with google in the past is that the premium is so high...

interesting...do you have an idea of what your success rate is with this method? i'm going to have to look back at some historical charts with bb's to make sure i understand what you are saying and can put it into practice myself. thanks again for the tip, i really appreciate it. :)

no later than the next day. that said, if it is consistently going down, i may hold an extra day, but if it's going against me, i'm out.

i have no problem shorting or holding overnight with one large caveat: if i meant for the stock to go down immediately and it doesn't and i'm holding a large position, i cut my losses and run. holding longer and hoping for a fall tends to be futile, leading to even bigger losses.
