Why scalping beats any other trading style

i agree - sort of. scalping is not more profitable for me than my position trades/investments, but i could see how it could be for some. having said that, i think you could scalp, daytrade for an hour a day and still make enough to live on. if you're good. (i.e. 6 hours/day not necessary)...

How much is 'A Good Living'?

hmmm...i would define a good living as what you require to live on, comfortably. i think after tax income of 150k would suffice. but in actuality, if you have little capital, i think 50k would be enough to live on. and if you really enjoy trading, then it makes up for not making more money...

What did you learn this year?

i learned how to trade futures and now i LOVE it! i am filled with hope for the future. i understand my emotions and don't let them interfere with my trading. i understand that when i read trading books before going to bed at night, it helps motivate me to be the trading warrior the...

    Good Bye Kramer!

ludicrous that ANYONE could think there's ANY EXCUSE for this behavior. i don't care what the hecklers said or did. kramer's behavior is a reflection on kramer. ridiculous to make excuses otherwise.... the utter gall of someone to suggest that someone OTHER THAN kramer was responsible for...

Would you rather make 3 million on your own or half that as . . .

you're kidding, right? obviously for those of us who wouldn't work at a firm for five times the amount of our at-home trading, the answer is clear. 3 million a year would be wonderful, heavenly, great! most of us will never touch that on a yearly basis. it isn't all about the money...

Would you rather trade on your own making 100k yr or trade for a firm making 500k yr

Would you rather trade on your own making 100k yr or trade for a firm making 500k yr

my thoughts exactly...hence my previous answer. people who have never made 500k/yr (or even a tenth of that) working for someone else think it's oh so great that it would be worth it no matter what. some of us know otherwise....

Would you rather trade on your own making 100k yr or trade for a firm making 500k yr

would prefer half a mill at goldman sachs if i thought i could hang for even two years....save up the money and then trade on my own forever. problem is, i doubt i could deal with those personalities for even one year, much less two....

Why are US index futures so choppy?

having only tried trading es and er myself, i agree that er is easier. to me it's easier b/c it's more trendy. easier to jump in and out with a profit, even if you're fairly cautious, like myself.

    Are women better traders?

c'mon, now tell us what you REALLY think! that's really something, the most priveleged group in the world talking about protected classes....the reason the same thing wouldn't fly in reverse is because everyone knows who the REAL power belongs to...they're just humoring those with less power...

    Are women better traders?

ah hem... as a woman myself, i agree with the preceeding posts but not this one. actually, women as traders tend to be less emotional than men, not moreso. men have HUGE egos, therefore tend to always want to be right. this can be a HUGE impediment to trading. of course vo would have to...
