Nope, I hit the short button as soon as I saw a red candle. That was way at the top watched my order get filled several seconds later. Anyways, gtg I send a more throu reply tomorrow.

Delayed data as in the charting I use? I dont use their software I use tradingview pro and trade ideas. I got filled at 209 pm. I am off my laptop so I can't look at tradelog atm so I can't give more specific details.

My size was only 300. I wasn't paying attention to the bid/ask size at that time but I am pretty sure there was a lot of liquidity since the stock was trading on 99x relative volume.

    Order Fill

You know what now that you mention it. I do seem to recall most of my market orders getting filled where I be losing up to $50 right off the bat which didn't seem right since I was only trading with a $2000 account. I never really paid attention thou and just assumed it was regular bid/ask...

Stock exchange or ticker? Heck I just tell you all the details. It happened when I was trading PYDS. If you look at the min chart I tried shorting this at around 2:08 pm at $3.52 and got filled at 3.42 at the end of the huge red volume spike.

Ok I see where your getting at so if I make a limit order instead of a market order there is no way HFT can benefit from this right or can they? Also, I still don't see the connection why my orders get filled late. Or you saying my orders are getting filled late cause all the HFT traders got in...

Well I am not gonna pretend I know what HFT even is. Does that stand for high-frequency trading? And if so, what is so bad about it?

They only charge commission free if you make an limit order outside the bid/ask which I rarely do. I don't like the idea of my orders never getting filled. Maybe ok if your a long-term investor but daytrading it wouldn't work.

    Order Fill

Well this is the 1st time I traded with them in a year and I just noticed this issue today. It happened aleast 2 times during a volume spike. My account is small so definitely not big enough to move it. I have tried limit orders outside the bid/ask but rarely do they get filled cause when I am...

I am with a broker called Tradezero and I tried shorting a stock at 3.52 but it went down all the way to 3.33 before it got filled at a price already to low to short. This only took about a couple of seconds. It seems whenever there is volume spike my order gets filled late. Is this market maker...

    Traders: What Not to Do

They can move fast but to go down 50-90% in less time it takes anyone to hit the sell button? Maybe right after the opening bell or extended hours on big news. Fair enough! Although, I highly doubt that was the case...

    Traders: What Not to Do

Sounded like your actual leak at that time had less to do with your position sizing but your failure to cut your losses short. I trade on a simulator and use up to 100% margin on 1 or 2 stocks and have been doing fine so far. If your daytrading (which I believe was the case.) you're watching the...

    Percentage Scaling?

I went back to price scaling. Figured it would take me a while to get use to it.

    Percentage Scaling?

Wouldn't it be better to always use charts in percentage scaling over price scaling formats? (Esp for daytraders.) You wanna know how much a stock moves by %, not by $ amount. A $1 increase on a stock would mean little if the price was $500. Yet, it can be misleading since regardless of how much...

What is your favorite platform/website to view charts?

I use trade ideas, great screener software but their charts are horrendous. They've long skinny candles which misleads me into thinking the price is moving faster then it appears. However, I absolutely love the charts provided for me when I use tradingsim. But as the name applies it's not real...

    Tradingview charts

Did some digging and apparently after you go pro you'll need to subscribe to additional market data otherwise the only data you see comes from bats. GJ on spotting that for me.
  17. G

    Tradingview charts

Yes, I just realized Bats have less market data generated so that could be the problem. I am looking into it now.

    Tradingview charts

I don't think that is the reason. If you look at ticker symbol petz on tradingview the stock went from $23 to 29$ on flat doji's. Now I can understand no candlestick forming if the price stayed around the same but on a 20% jump on a non-micro stock that hardly makes sense. Also, if you look at...

    Tradingview charts

So that means only 1 or a few trades were making those flatline patterns? As I said thou I use trade ideas and I only see like 1/3 of those on the same ticker (PETZ) so I think it has something to do with me being a free member or my chart settings.

    Tradingview charts

Does anyone know why they're so many flat doji lines everywhere like the ones when a ticker halts. I also use trade ideas charts and I don't see nearly as many of them so I know something is not right. I am not sure if I upgrade to pro if it fixes this but it does say twice as many data is not...
