    Bright Trading's new payout model

Seriously? 80/20 and there's still a deposit? Still sounds like a customer model to me if the trader is at risk of losing his own money.

    Bright Trading's new payout model

My understanding is that under this business model trader deposits are no longer allowed. So the risk falls fully on the firm. Correct Don?

    Bright Trading's new payout model

Given Bright's sky high commissions that's pretty telling.

    Bright Trading's new payout model

So Don, what's the deal here? You are now taking 20% and keeping the current commission structure? If not, what's your new base commission rate?

I do not know any sterling coders that work for pay, though they probably exist. Maybe post a request on sterling thread here on et? figure 10k+ to pay someone to do it. Going to eat a chunk of your equity.

I am not aware of OLE in Sterling but it is not a topic I know anything about. You need to use the API to submit and manage orders, it cannot be done with excel directly. So you'd need code that in some formal programming language. The API is ActiveX based. Personally, unless you are short...

No groups or boards that I am aware of other than a fairly dormant thread here on ET. IB's API and Sterling's API are not very similar. IB's is better documented, better supported, easier to learn and generally more forgiving. Sterling's DDE works well IMO though.

You don't know ahead of time how your fills will be distributed through those 100 groups. You would be cxling out of legitimate fills if any of those groups had more than 1 fill that day, which would be highly likely over that many groups day after day.

The Abacus prospectus states, GS might short your position.

I don't think the issue is of GS being on one side or the other. The issue as I understand it is claiming the contents of the synthetic CDO were put together by an independent 3rd party when they were actually put together by someone who cherry picked the contents to be most likely to fail.

Not sure how your comments balance out my sarcasm, but thanks for the info buddy.

    Prop and odd lots

There have been situations over the years where <100 share orders were given preferential treatment with respect to order handling and subsequently exploited by professional traders. Not really applicable these days, but the rules are still in effect. Google SOES Bandits for an example.

I see you were asking the question in a speculative sense. It was your use of the word "would" (not "could" as you have above) that threw me off track. Apologies.

Most pros don't teach beginners because trading in the shorter term time frames has a limited amount of payoff. Sharing ideas and strats only divides up the pie. Or worse, it spoils the pie and leaves nothing left for anyone (Millenium arb anyone?). We worked hard to figure out our strats, why...

Lescor, I too want to know when you are going to automate and start making good consistent money? It seems like a lot of your stuff could be automated, you should consider it. Have a good weekend! EDIT: I guess I better put a smiley face in before more of the sarcasm impaired pile in...

I was wondering if you could talk about the role of nutrition in your trading? Do you carb up before a trading day? Also, do you abstain from sex the day before quad witching? J/K Corey, nice thread.:p

You prefer to believe a guy who wants you to give him your money over a guy that has never tried to sell anything despite posting on ET for years? I think you need to recalibrate your BS detector, it's way off base. There's always some jackass that has to crap on good threads. Mods please...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I am always surprised to see people who have to maintain a public image voice their political (or religious) views in public. It would seem to be bad for business. What if one of your clients who didn't share your political views were to read this?
