    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

well, that's not exactly true. When you buy a house, you don't get to "choose" your insurance. It is mandated by the bank that holds your mortgage.

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

I mean it is totally crazy! It's like the government chose the same coat in four different colors, and told everybody they need to buy one, but they can go into the "market place" and decide who they want to purchase from. So now, Macy's, Target, and Walmart all have the same mandated coat...

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

but the way this crazy law is written, when you tell your parents they are going to be grandparents, the first thing they will say is, "Congratulations, better sign up for Obamacare."

    Are politicians redundant ?

well, then, politicians really would be redundant. We could just let the computer run the government.

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

ah, I was thinking about it last night, If you think about it, almost all pregnancies go just fine. That is why there are 6 billion people in the world. But if anything goes wrong, the bill can hit 100k very quickly. It's going to take a lot of people just to save those few babies. Buying...

well, the difference is, I never met a man who decided to choose prostate cancer. Maybe a compromise would be "Maternity Coverage in the Case of Rape." I believe in a woman's right to choose.

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

hmmm, I'm not so sure I like that. I have no problem paying for a man trying to make it on 15k, and maybe even a family man making 32k (since families are good for our country, and even if he was responsible, maybe he just had high hopes before he started screwing is wife) but I don't think I...

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

good, I am not that familiar with the requirements Could you explain to me what it means when Blue States on state exchanges are "expanding medicaid'? If it already helps the poor, why would it need to be expanded? If a man gets laid off and loses his coverage, and his unemployment insurance...

    It's November 30th - Healthcare.gov still broken

ideologically driven? that's how we ended up with this crazy law in the first place. It has nothing to do with healthcare, it is just based on how many votes it could get without violating too many ideologies. There should have never been any state exchanges, but that would violate an ideology...

Huge majority of you here are losers? Agree?

I'd love to carry on this stimulating conversation, but I have to go down to the pigpen. You never know when somebody will toss some pearls before you. To be honest, they taste like shit, but sometimes you can sell them for a profit.

Deportations Drop as Obama Pushes for New Immigration Law

they give you two choices, either you can fill out endless paperwork, deal with government bureaucrats and wait and wait, Or you an sneak in here and stay out of trouble. Which one do think most closely reflects the Traditional American Values?

the bottom 40% of Americans paid negative 9.1% income taxes

it's a cheap shot to nail somebody on your vs you're, and also there vs their vs they're this is the internet, not an English class I use to talk to a guy on the internet that was an Electrical Engineering professor at Stanford, and he couldn't hit them right to save his soul somehow...

Huge majority of you here are losers? Agree?

I don't think that "90% Lose" is quite accurate. If you eliminate all the traders that are undercapitalized, suffer from unrealistic expectations, and just plain old gullible, it is probably more like 60% lose. Still, that's more lose than win, but it puts in perspective what it takes to win...

    Are politicians redundant ?

I guess it depends on your opinion of man. If you think he is stupid and greedy, then yes, there would be no hope for democracy. If you think he is intelligent, bold and inspired by goodness and kindness, then yes, he will elect politicians who represent his values.

Conservative Mind Set & Conspiracy Theories

good point. I was listening to an economic historian. he made the point, the "founding fathers" were dealing with a strappling school child, trying to compete with the Big Bully England. By the time Reagan came along we were the strongest kid on the block. Now, we are abut 26 years old, and it's...

    Random: Political Musings

you can always tell who a liberal is, they just want congress to "do something" they criticize this congress for being "The most unproductive in history." It never occurs to them, when I send my congressman to Washington, all I ask is, "I don't care what you do, as long as you don't do...

A question for pro traders. Profit targets or runners?

entry, I guess you could say it is just random, but I figure, I just made a huge profit on the long side, so it's probably time to go short exit, once the pre defined target is hit, the profit gets taken, religiously, no matter how positive I feel about the position. The flipside, I've...

A question for pro traders. Profit targets or runners?

I have tight stops on all my positions. My profits can be 20 times the stop or more. The large loss is simply the drawdown of everything all put together. In your case, if you get stopped out twice in a row, your loss is 30 ticks, just trying to win 20

A question for pro traders. Profit targets or runners?

the thing I think about AND WORRY ABOUT everyday is, am I not the same as the scalper? Willing to survive large paper losses just to take a small realized profit? And justifying it all because I trade a spread portfolio instead of a single instrument? The one thing that keeps me going is, I...
