I like it. Be mindful that Tuesday is the last trading day for the Jul. I believe the futures are automatically settled in cash according to Wednesday's VIX special opening quote (SOQ) if you hold through Tuesday's close.

I closed the AAPL 430 straddle today for about an 8% profit. Here is the kind of chart I use in TWS, which nicely plots the implied volatility underneath.

Hello, just saw your thread. I have never traded a fly but it looks interesting. My personal opinion/feeling is that VIX 12-16 is over for now and the new range is 15-20. From what you described I believe this would be good for you SPX options fly (that's what you're doing, right?)

Options are the palette of the trade artist. Noobs use 'em and abuse 'em for leverage, in order to try and make some real money with a small account. Funnily, it works pretty well in a bull market.

I got the call spread, -17 +15 today for 1.45. Thus looking for 16.45+ tomorrow, max profit at 17.00. What's interesting to me is that the trade appeared this AM. It wasn't there yesterday when I started looking. Last month, it was there on Monday.

IB is not showing anything for VRO. First VIX of the day was 13.45. My long calls aren't showing up in the option exercise screen so I'm a bit troubled. How is this supposed to work?
