What's the latest on future Healthcare & Health Insurance & IRS Fines for no coverage

What is the delay going to be from the point where you sign up for coverage and the point where you get coverage? An accident-initiated emergency room visit is massively expensive for the first few days, then more than likely you are sent home fine and dandy or you are dead. If there's a...

    BP suspends dividend.

Wait till we see some life back in the price. They are down 50% from recent highs, there's plenty of time to capture their return. Don't try to catch this falling knife just yet.

BP agrees to $20B fund for spill victims

When Pemex had their Gulf blowout in '79 they paid $100 mill for cleanup, then claimed "sovereign immunity" and avoided paying compensation. There's no way that could happen in today.

BP agrees to $20B fund for spill victims

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Sources-BP-agrees-to-20B-fund-apf-3017422868.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=main&asset=&ccode= BP will not be able to amputate its US operations to limit its liability. We, the US, are still quite the international bully. Don't forget that we recently twisted...

From sublime to reeeediculous - now we believe the politicians?

That's a good question. I always thought they had "public numbers" and "private numbers". They release one set of numbers to get themselves headlines and mentioned on TV; a form of advertising. Then to their paying customers they give different numbers, or perhaps finer details like "buy this...

    Wal-mart

Back when I had some money and some freedom (married now) I took a cross-country motorcycle ride, from sea to shining sea. I visited WalMarts in around 20 states, and I can say with authority that ALL their shoppers are the same. If you look at peopleofwalmart.com and are sad because you...

Many Americans Too Broke to File for Bankruptcy

    Daytraders:watch your health

I got an eliptical machine and NetFlix for the Wii. On demand TV shows kick ass, no commercials to fast-forward thru. 3 half-hour regular TV shows, or 2 half-hour cable shows, is an hour. I do an hour every morning. I just finished all 4 seasons of My Name Is Earl, now I'm watching Weeds. :)

    is United States Doomed?

I always thought we were saving that in case OPEC were to shut off the oil spigot completely, we can sink a big straw down there, suck it out, and use it to fuel our military invasion.

BP Needs to Tell Whining Americans to Take a Hike: Matthew Lynn

You are vastly overestimating the attention span of the average US citizen. All we seem to care about is who's going to win American Idol and how much is the gov't going to pay me today. I said at the very beginning of this disaster that BP will leave/be kicked out of the US market, a few...

Are the worlds economies too reliant on oil?

That's 20 years away, oil is now $70 / barrel. If oil goes up 10.4% / yr for the next 20 years, that will be your $500/bbl. For the sake of your argument we will presume this happens. Cars will become more fuel efficient. Hybrid car sales in US from 2000 to 2007 went up 3800%...

Disturbing Job Ads: 'The Unemployed Will Not Be Considered'

What if you said you were "consulting"? You could spend a day and set up a decent website. Even if you don't have any clients, when they ask how it's going just say you prefer to work in a collaborative environ with highly skilled colleagues instead of solo so you can focus on your core...

Is This Woman Too Hot To Be a Banker?

http://www.villagevoice.com/2010-06-01/news/is-this-woman-too-hot-to-work-in-a-bank/ I've worked with ridiculously hot women before. It's a novelty for a month or so, then they just blend into the cubicle walls like all of the rest of the mindless automatons.
