I recently found out that if you are a prop trader at my firm and want to trade from home, someone from the firm must come and inspect your home office because it is legally treated as a satellite office. Is this normal procedure or is it just my firm.

Had Stuck EDGX quotes at ASSENT around 10AM (not certain about time) Quotes were refreshed and all was good.

I thought all retail accounts were min 30k. You need over 25k to negate PDT rules. If you opened with 25k as soon as you made your first trade you would be under 25k and would be unable to trade, If your trading a sub account or prop 5k should be sufficient.

Assents website is horrendous. I dont think its been updated in years. Anvil has charts built in and e-signal is also provided.

If I trader different months of say the YM or ES, wouldn't I run into liquidity issues, especially for the YM? My knowledge of Futures are limited. I trade Stocks. Just looking to expand Plus its cheaper than trading DIA's or SPY's. :D

Two different strategies. Problem is entries and exits overlap. So a short may be put on before a long trade is exited. And yes there are times when positions will be hedged but thats part of the system and would only be for a short duration.

It sucks, but there is a program called stock locate that we use to request things that are unavailable. Usually the response is instant unless its a stock thats really hard to borrow. That can take some time and usually cost more to borrow. Many stocks have no charge, but the less shares that...

Just to add a note, I traded on lightspeed for 4 years and now im on Anvil. Both are excellent platforms but I think if I had both available to choose from, Id pick Anvil.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like the levels on both are thick enough for 1 contract not to be an issue. The YM does seems a little thin though if you start to press a little with size. Also, Im sure even on the ES, those levels can evaporate rather quickly when things get crazy.
