profiting from decay in 3X funds

My impression is that it would be alot more mangeable and less absolute risk using the x3 on one side only, and on a r/r basis would be comparable to going x3 on both sides

    rationale for real estate investment

I'm looking at investing in apartments, if they yield a 8% return, my thinking is their value can't have much downside (or the yield would be even higher). This is a bit simplistic, but is there something I'm overlooking? For example, I had the same view to industrial real estate but...

    inflation vs deflation

Hi, What affect if any do you think the news of Japan sliding further into deflation and its attempts at stimulus is going to have on policy makers elsewhere? Might the US, europe delay slowing their own stimulus and tightening. Or, do you think theres no relevance? Any view appreciated.

    Validity of Dubai on AUD

How valid Dubai for causing such a plunge in AUD? I can't help but think a property crumble in the middle east has limited relevance, also that the 4% dip is out of proportion with the movement in the stock markets. I'm long from 9020 and believe it has further up to run, to about 9180 in the...

    How to invest in Renmibi

Is it possible to (directly or indirectly) invest in the Renmibi? I did trade through Oanda at one point and did well but there was an astonishing interest rate to pay. Stocks don't seem that responsive to the currency rate, are there any other options? Thanks in advance for any help

The myth of quality European banking

I am not referring to fund management but simply banking. Maybe thats true, they are not interested in less than say 500k. But why not state that and deal with large accounts only instead of opening smaller accounts and having no real interest in them? I am talking about no responses...

The myth of quality European banking

No one is suggesting 'Europeans never work' and the like. This is shadow boxing, or 'euro style debate'

The myth of quality European banking

The lastest problematic bank is in Denmark. (PM & I'll mention the name). The swiss, I've had also bad dealings with, both times when funds went astray involved the swiss, and they do not hear about a complaint. They simply don't respond to news they don't want to hear about. I don't like...

The myth of quality European banking

I once had outdated details given to me from a European bank and my funds transfer went of into limbo (for months). Even with this they expect no outrage. Another time, a transfer also went astray and took alot of follow up. They just shrug at any sort of misadventure like this, they just...

The myth of quality European banking

Generally, I find Americans are deadly serious about business and in contrast Europeans treat business more like a fashion or a lifestyle option and expect their customers to do the same, I find this makes transacting with their banks very difficult.

The myth of quality European banking

The myth of quality European banking

True, it is a generalization but in fact the bank I'm dealing with is scandinavian and very lax, as bad as its gets. I really would prefer to believe the best of people but after a while a harder approach is needed

The myth of quality European banking

Yes, they have the good life and expect this in their dealings with clients, all seemingly OK. The problem is inefficency but most of all, its futile to have valid complaint that progresses things. They have a regal manner, you have to take the BS while pretending everything is OK, just long...

The myth of quality European banking

My experience through out dealing with European banks is complete apathy, disorientation and incompetent, like funds going astray no information, or reponse or update. broadcasting private details of their clients This is not the exception but the rule. They are meant to be famous for their...
