    Is it true

I hear yaa... its not even easy to do dispersion on the SPX unless you use options on sector indexes or ETF's. Its just so huge. Either way no individual is doing it.

    Is it true

Thats not really a good dispersion set up. Not to mention there is no edge in that trade at all since you'll find the SPX vs. SPY or OEX priced to perfection. Either way dispersion is not a strategy which can be employed by a retail individual investor.

    OTC options - broker

With a 98% hit ratio about how soon till you shut down the entire market as we know it? We should take the other side of your trades. With those cant lose systems the biggest winner is always the contra party as long as they have some patience.

How to find out if the option is undervalued or not?

I dont agree with you there. I would say that for a good % ( a subjective % not an objective calculation) of retail investors options are a reasonable way to enhance the returns of their portfolios. They're clearly not for every joe out there because they do take a fair degree of dedication to...

How to find out if the option is undervalued or not?

By the time a publication comes out the their subjective guess at over / under value has been filtered into the market.

How to find out if the option is undervalued or not?

Over / under value is subjective in any case and its based on your assumption of the future volatility. Buying perceived under valued and selling perceived over valued options is simple Implied Volatility trading. The problem is the assumptions you make and the fact that the perceived...

    SP 500 Options

Try SPX options. They're options on the S and P 500 cash not the futures but they're priced off the future, listed on the CBOE. I dont think the CME options on the future have retail electronic access.

Wide Bid/Ask Spreads = Stay Away?

If it were me I would not bother trying to trade MICC options with those spreads. The stock is very very thin and the options are a mile wide. Dont forget even if you cross that huge spread to open the trade its not going to be any tighter trying to close it.

Wide Bid/Ask Spreads = Stay Away?

There is not much you can do in that one. Its listed on 6 exchanges but there is so little order flow in it there is no incentive for anyone to make tighter markets. You can try splitting the markets and waiting till the stock moves against your order a bit. I doubt there are any more then 1...

oldschool getting schooled: CALM exit question

STFU LOL whats the matter you a bit sore about getting called on the carpet? why would you bother NOT buying the 25's back here for 20 or 25 cents taking the profit and leaving the 20's on as a free shot? Do you really think trying to get another dime out of them is good risk reward? Then...

oldschool getting schooled: CALM exit question

Why wouldnt you have a plan in place before now for a trade exit? Why didnt you ask this question and post the trade yesterday? Its easy to post a winner now and say "oh boy I got this nice winner, now what should I do? "

    Thoughts about my VIX trade

Thats cool... I just take the opposite tact. I dont bother posting trades, comments about money or wealth, or material goods or profits and losses. The internet is so filled with rubbish who bully and play the internet muscle game. I find it boring. There is IMHO value in asking questions...

    Thoughts about my VIX trade

    1) My apologies for the gender mistake, I have traded with many fine female traders over the years and it was a honest mistake to assume you were male. No offense was meant. 2) I was not just tossing unfounded bashing, I made an observation based on your posts and perceived attitude. 3) I...

    Thoughts about my VIX trade

opt789 Well said. It looks pretty obvious that he's not really interested in anything other then posting a trade that he put on in the past and has already moved his way. I will say again, I am surprised his broker allows him to be naked short options. Its not even a gap that huge that...

    oldschool getting schooled

A put the same distance from at the money as a call will virtually always have more premium. For example if XYZ is at 50 the 45 put will virtually always have more premium then the 55 call. It has NOTHING to do with the directional bias of any market participant. In addition to that call...
