    What Would Be Your Sentence?

    Mine: "Go for the throat"
  2. I

    Here's my automated trading platform

That makes sense, and should be a good resume builder in my opinion. Personally, I think it is way more impressive to have built something from nothing, as you've done, than it is to have "industry experience".... I also have zero " industry " experience

    Here's my automated trading platform

You took the words right out of my mouth.... anything that has the line #include "windows.h" is pure evil. OP: Whats your monetization strategy? Are you offering free downloads now as a trial period and than requiring a subscription? I too have developed "from scratch" C++ AT software, but...

Machine Learning is the new C++

Literature backgrounds prevent typos and the digestion of the true meaning of a statement? Interesting. What did I say that was nonsense? I said AI isn't real learning... Its pattern recognition. I also said the worst AI algorithm is more USEFUL than the smartest infant. I never said an...

Machine Learning is the new C++

I disagree... the worst AI algorithm is more useful than the smartest of human infant :) . I also come from an aerospace background, and that is where my AI experience orignates from (Adaptive Control and Estimation). Artificial Intelligence isn't really intelligent at all...the name causes...

How to improve the risk reward profile of a bull call spread when the stock trades in a tight range

Perhaps take a look at the "Costless Collar" spread . It may give you the profile you are looking for.

bill gates says $40,000 salary goes further these days??

I think you missed the point. He said that 40k now gets you more than an equivalent salary decades ago, due to technology. He never said 40k is enoungh to live comfortably. Also, if you are paying 1400 a month on a 40k salary.... its time to move somewhere cheaper.

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

I'm not saying price doesn't matter. When I say price action, I'm referring to candlestick chart trading, which I assume you do ( maybe incorrectly) There is more to the story than price though. Supply and demand (the book), is one thing that comes to mind. Price does not change in a vaccum.

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Algos leave a signature too. Perhaps you must look beyond price action and technical analysis
  10. I

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Why is it going to get worse for me? My algos change with the market.

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Im an algo guy, my time frames are as short as I can proftibly make them. I do this to minimize risk exposure. I do this is in futures, not equities. To answer your question... Its probably harder to scalp ticks now than it was than, if u are sitting looking at candlesticks on your monitor. A...

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

What needs elaboration? Just because the same strategies that worked in 2007 dont neccisarily work today doesn't imply markets have deteriorated. The market is just as profitable as ever. The fact that the more "mathematicians" are involved might mean your strategies need to be more...

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Yes, they are changing. Everything is changing. The "mathematicians", as you call them, have something to do with it. But, we have as much right to the market as anyone else, as long as we aren't breaking rules. Why is rapid evolution bad? Survival of the fittest. The markets are different...

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

You understand that "AI" is only as smart as the dude behind the keyboard, right? The algo is only as smart as the guy who came up with it. Saying algorithmic trading is going to kill the market is like saying Amazon.com is going to kill local commerce. Change yes, kill no. I work with the...

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Would this perturbation of price action be inside the spreads of 10 years ago?

If you can't compete with the algos, increase your time frame.

Okay, let's say trends are elimanted from a contract like CL. Does the price of the contract decorellate from the hard asset? The physical delivery obligations in the contract gaurentee this won't happen. The trend continues
  18. I

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

Sure, its harder for people using the methods of 10 years ago to trade in today's markets intra day. I'd argue that long term investing hasn't changed much.
  19. I

Algo's are pushing every market toward randomness - God help us traders

There are still external variables, such as earnings, fuel shortages etc. The trend will still exist. Efficient markets dont mean trendless markets
