I would be careful about BABA at price above $90 too :eek:

Now BABA is trading at $95+, but YHOO at the same time has moved very little. YHOO is trading like unrelated to BABA price:confused: :(

USA TODAY-24 minutes ago: (BABA) That was revised five times to $90 to $91. NYSE officials said that shares may not begin trading until 11:30 a.m.,.. But YHOO is only up $0.07 and trading @ 42.15 as I type this message... YHOO call options are also down quite a bit right now. What's this implying?

Thanks for your inputs. YHOO surge again this morning apparently relating to the Alibaba IPO pricing. I also found the following report interesting, but I'm not sure how to calculate the tax stuff. But YHOO should look good in the following days before BABA IPO :)...

According to the news report, the initial price range of Alibaba shares will be set between $60 and $66 a share. Yahoo own roughly 22.5% of Alibaba. So what’s a YHOO share worth based on Alibaba IPO price @$60?

VIX index rallied over 5% this morning(until 10:30am ET) but both December and January VIX call options fell at the same time. What is this implying? The index will fall to a new low in the following days? Or it's just the market maker playing a trick or else :confused:

Those ABT calls are deep 'in the money' calls. If someone knows the price will move up significantly in the near future, he would buy 'out of the money' call.

I'm watching 10/5 10/8, hoping the stocks rally until then and make a turn.

I'm trying to read a little bit of US Treasury futures' history, e.g. when was the first day the 10 & 30-year treasury futures traded in the history. Does anyone knows about this or can provide a link for it? Thanks!

I think the SPX weekly is forming a Three-Drive Pattern. Wave 4) ended below Wave 1) on the chart could be regarded as end of Drive-2. So we still want to watch wave 5) (Drive-3) on the chart. Once Wave 5)5 (Drive-3) ends, we may see a significant correction.

Thanks for the article! Now I've got some basic idea why TVIX behaves strangely. I will stay away from TVIX for now. It seems the VIX and its related products are quite complicated, I guess more careful TA is also needed when trading them.

3/19 is another obvious example, VXX down $1.30 but TVIX up $0.26 (they also moved in different directions the day before ). I guess VXX TVIX VIX should be treated as different animals. They may move in different directions whenever they want and don't have to follow the rule? How do you...

Thanks for the link. There are some good articles there. But so far it seems to me that VIX or VXX etc. are often moved by expectation or the supply/demand of the ETFs, rather than following the SPX volatility formula. Or say they follow SPX volatility formula only some of the time :confused:
