    Rule of 10 Journal

Volente, I like the way you have some flexibility in your entries. My question here is, if you enter on a "rule of nine", and it reaches to the 10 just after you enter, is your stop 3 from your entry, or 3 from the peak, i.e. now 4 pts from your entry?

    IB TWS P&L wrong

Does it ever show a higher balance than it should, or always wrong to the downside?

    Is this "scalping?"

My advice would be don't blow off that 44 contract trade as anything other than catastrophic. You will easily blow up trading a real account this way, before you even get to your contract limit.

Congrats. Any long taken at 84.00 (3:40), and if not, what would be the exact rule that kept you out?

Any late-day entry restrictions? ... we all know the warnings about fading strong late-afternoon moves.

Thanks .. first time I've heard volume mentioned in the context of ROT.

    Rule of 10 Journal

Thanks .. yes, today is exactly what I was talking about. Before we went 10 points from the first obvious reaction high of 87.25 (RTH), there were also peaks at 85.75, 83.50, and 81.75.... so, 4 possible choices of where to measure from. Some were more obvious than others, but unless there is an...

    Rule of 10 Journal

I have a question for volente or jagmot .... or anyone else ... Say you're flat, and you're waiting for your next entry at 10 pts from the last reaction low/high. Within any 10 point move there are usually several wave/retracement cycles. When does the reaction high/low from one of these...

    Is this "scalping?"

Ironfist, the trade where you were long 9 could've gotten real ugly ... you were lucky this time and that is the only reason why you came out on top yesterday. Next time the ES may not come back to your B/E. Do you have an exit strategy for such cases? ... because they WILL happen if your...

I think maybe look for signs when oil gets around 110.75 ... MAYBE .

That is a better entry, but I believe the low was 71.25, unless my charts are wrong. :)

11:24 ET Are you not in the short right now from 81.25? (LOD 71.25 +10) This seems to be the current trade for the system, and it is working. Edit: my question is for jagmot

I agree ... 10 point moves off ROT are the exception. You need a much smaller target for just 1 contract. If you are scaling out on multiples that's a different story.

Booking +10 and going flat before FOMC is always a 'decent' decision in my book. :)
