Could you please give me the name of one of these firms? I have looked into this and the firms I contacted require you to put up your own money, and then just give you massive leverage. In addition they charge fees greater than what you'd pay with IB. Jay

Hours are the same if you trade stock indexes during normal hours (well, 15 minutes longer). Differences? Here's some: - massive leverage - lower transaction costs - instant fills (electronic market) - lower taxes on profits (60% at long term cap gains rate)

Spoos have over twice the volume as NQ. Does it make a difference to the retail trader? Probably not. I would argue that the difference between these and the DOW does though. For active scalpers anyway. The original question was inquiring about all three markets. As for one tick markets, this...

ES (Spoo minis) are by far the most liquid, and for me the easiest to trade. I have a hell of a time with NQ for some reason. Many people here are just the opposite. Not many Dow traders yet (on a relative basis), but it may catch up. Jay

Why use stop limit orders vs normal stop orders? Are you trading something illiquid? I have zero slippage trading ES with normal stops. Jay

Have you figured out a way to enter a bracket order on an actual postion rather than on an order? You may not get the actual price you think you will get, in which case the bracket numbers will be off. Also, you can't place a TWS bracket order much in advance or one of the legs may get hit...

This is a very good point. I personally can't make much money even trading for single point Spoos. Commish eats up too much (I aim for about 3 points, a half dozen times a day, but adjust this as needed). I know some of you here do great on the single point spoo trades, but has anybody here...

Massive range moves in the late 80's. Position traded most of the nineties (two days is a position to me). Jay

Paper trading is worthless, and I would say destructive. It totally removes the mental aspect which is 90% of the game. Instead, trade the smallest size possible, whether it's 1 mini or 100 shares. Jay
