    WIN 2000 or WIN XP?

My computer guy says win2000pro all the way.

Anyone understand this guy's voice at realtimefutures.com ?

Most people are averse to the squawk when they first hear it. It takes some getting used to. Some people grow to love it; I'm sure many, many people do just fine without it. It does give you a sense of the current emotions on the floor. There is another squawk at los.net - it is more laid...

    New highs/lows in Realtick

It's been a while, but..... On the menu bar, choose Tal Alarms. You probably need to have a saved symbol list (.slf) file. When you don't specify your own stock list, it gives you all stocks, and the thing goes crazy. Under the "options," I would always uncheck "verbose mode" to make it...

    Short selling

Did he mean does the PDT Rule Apply? e.g. could a non PDT-designated trader cover an intraday position with options, thus avoiding the "day trade" that could push the trader into the PDT classification?

    Short selling

There is a PDT rule discussion here: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1938&perpage=6&pagenumber=1 If you don't want to deposit the $9K or lose margin, you also have the option of transferring your acct elsewhere.

    Congratulations Baron

Yeah, it was awful. Baron deleted a link and he re-posted it once. Thankfully, ET survived this vicious assault.

    Short selling

http://www.sec.gov/answers/shortsale.htm Short sales must be on margin. You have to borrow the stock before you sell it. The brokers do not have a choice - it's a rule.

What is a trader career like?

<i>would I have been allowed to post a message like this soliciting someone to my branch office??? </i> Only if you are paying Baron. That is the difference.

What is a trader career like?

<i>Who hires entry level traders?</i> Being a broker, you probably already have a 7 and 63. That puts you a step ahead of true "entry level." Most (?) prop firms will also require the 55.

    Investrio.com what in the world?

http://www.investrio.com/opportunity/compensation/override.asp This is hilarious. The key to a pyramid scheme is that the "product" has virtually no value. I would love to see their amazing methods. Amway meets Wade Cook. I guess it had to happen eventually.

    The Princess Thread

The curiosity is killing me. http://stripper-faq.org/ (no adult content, believe it or not)

    Credible reasons

<i>what content would that be?</i> As if there are so many profitable traders posting a day-by-day journal and answering questions. Who cares if he works for Worldco and they did not pay the anti-censoring extortion money? How does it hurt Baron to have Hitman post here? How can it be...

    Credible reasons

And for anyone considering the products of any advertisers, ET discussions have little value. Anything negative, regardless of truth, has been deleted.

    Best intraday software for tapereading

It really does not matter that much, I don't think. You need real-time bid, offer, and prints..... pretty simple. I assume you mean NYSE. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=25321&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending

How about free beer? That would pack them in. Or are there compliance issues with getting seminar attendees drunk? :)

    Courses and seminars

http://www.daytradingstocks.com/lessonsandeducation.html Not exactly what you asked for, but worthwhile reading nonetheless. (and free. free is always good) There are 4 pages of education links.

    recos on news wires

<i>who has time to filter out the bs</i> You're right. Reading a news wire can be a full-time job. Some pro rooms have an intern or employee read the news stories out loud.
