Has anyone tryed Something like "Motor Millions"???

And doesn't everything sold on infomercials eventually end up at the "Everything is $1" store? 2 baldness remedies - spray-on hair and shake-on hair - come to mind.

    Realtick

I am trading NYSE now, so I've just got a plain old DOT machine. For Nasdaq, if speed is your thing, I really liked The Watcher. I'm not sure that it's still around anymore, but there are several Watcher knock-offs that are probably just as good if not better - PointDirex, Sonic, and...

    Realtick

Great for charting. I never liked it for executions. Plus, for new traders trading 100 shares, the flat fee ticket charge kills.

    When do IPOs start trading?

Is it true that a licensed person is not supposed to day trade IPOs when they open for trading? What possible advantage am I supposed to have just because I have a 7? This has to be right up there with the PDT rule in its brilliance.

    "The ECN" versus trading books

to see not just an ECN but all other books and orders out there You are never going to see all of the orders out there. And if shares are offered somewhere lower than they are bid elsewhere and you actually get filled on the buy order, the stock is probably going down.

Just fwiw, I found Realtick to be much better than nextrend for charting and analytics. You get what you pay for.

Update on my experiences with WorldCo

haha, as if he was scalping with a million shares a pop. Why do you assume that he would be maxed out with every trade?

you think you know whats best and that the other guys stuff isnt any good It's about the numbers, not an opinion.

    stock trading: monthly return

The traders that lose their deposit go out on the streets or ante up more cash. Out of curiosity, if a trader "loses" his $5K ante in commissions, but is still gross positive, do they keep the trader? Case by case maybe? From a firm perspective, it would seem that any traders who are...

    Stock Brokers in this market.

Or you can just keep cold calling and sticking suckers with the about-to-tank house stock of the day. Even after the first big loss, you can get another trade or two out of them "to get their money back" before they wise up. Have you seen the new Schwab commercial? Let's put some lipstick...

    new @ trading

When you look at firms, it is important to distinguish between "prop" and "pro." A pro firm requires a capital deposit. True proprietary trader positions do not require a capital deposit. Some places will ask for a deposit, but will hire you anyway if you say you have no money. By all means...

Leverage can be your friend. Get the 7 and use the leverage of a pro firm.

    Shorting on DOWNTICK

Are these nasdaq stocks or nyse? Not that I would ever do this, of course:) , but have you tried "going long to get short." ie, buying one lot, and then entering multiple sell orders. This would violate the rules, so of course I only bring it up for conversational purposes.

    Base Salary + Payout

Worldco does not pay a draw. Broadway paid $1600/mo until last fall, now they pay no draw. The business model of paying draws to proprietary traders is no longer as sound as it used to be.

    ATTN: Listed Traders

Also remember that the higher the volume on the stock, the less large bids/offers will affect its movement. Tape reading a stock with 250k vol/day is going to be far different from watching GM or IBM. The brokers - GS, MER, etc - are often considered to be more difficult to trade. I...
