You guys who do VOLUME, why so much?

100k-200k a year is good money no doubt about it, but there is way more money to be made out there and in order to cash in, you need to size in. I only trade about 50k-60k shares a day and Livingston is always trying to get me to step up my volume because I am very consistent and can do better...

    livingston's class

No, he's actually not at all like he appears here, but he knows he can get a rise out of everyone, so he does. anyways, look, my user name is my real name so I am not here to hide anything from anyone. just want to talk trading and maybe learn a few things as well. As far as Livingston is...

    livingston's class

I sit two seats away, I saw him in the MWD trade. actually he should have said that he got it off the bloomberg news terminal first and once cnbc got a hold of it, thats when everyone and their mother was trading it.

Blotter Time (Put up or shut up)

yeah but just having one 2k day is not impressive. consistently, though, thats a different story. anyone can have a day where everything lines up nicely.

Blotter Time (Put up or shut up)

Livingston is legit, I work with him. I can vouch for his successes. A $2000 net day for him is very common.

Why are there so many losers?

Thanks for the advice, I plan on stepping it up very soon. How did you break out?

Why are there so many losers?

You are probably right. He has always been an aggressive trader and therefore learned how to take hits early on and to trust himself that he could make it back. This, I feel, helped him become a ballsy and fearless trader. He also has incredible tape reading skills so you can imagine how...

Why are there so many losers?

We talk all the time and I know why it is that he can make what he does. He has a much greater tolerance for risk than I do right now and he will really size in in the right situations. I may have 1000 shares and catch 40 cents and be somewhat happy, but he wont be happy unless he catches the...

Why are there so many losers?

I still consider myself somewhat of a market loser because I can only seem to pull in 9-10k a month the way I currently trade. Yes, that may sound like a good living and by most accounts it is, but knowing how much money there is to made each and everyday and knowing that some are really...

What are the best NYSE scalping stocks?

Of course reading the specialist is much easier. He is one guy who has certain tendencies and over time you can learn to take advantage of those tendencies. Naz stocks have many markets makers which make it much harder to get a good read on. Just my opinion.

    Short Sale update

I have been nx'ing the SHO stocks on the short side and have been getting filled as if it were an nx. i guess they could have just been limits but as quickly as I have gotten filled, I figure they must have been nx's.

Newb to trading, a little help with the basics long post

Whoa, yes you certainly are new to the game. I am just going to add a few things from my experience that may be of some help. First off, it is of the utmost importance that you lose your short bias. Believe me, when the market is weak, shorts are fantastic but when you get the reversals or...

Is anyone getting rich out there?

You cant expect to insult people by calling them losers trying to eek out a living and expect people to be friendly and offer you advice. I work at a firm so I haven't posted any home workstation pics that you so desperately need to criticise but I can tell you that I wouldnt be so cocky as you...

Is anyone getting rich out there?

If your attitude is all about making high 6 figures to 7 figures without putting in YEARS of work, you are in for a rude awakening.

From poker player to stock trader.

It takes serious discipline, a true love and passion for the markets challenges, the ability to bounce back from being down and keeping your ego to a minimum when you are doing well as well as months upon months of making nothing (and possibly being down) all the while working your ass off to...

Funniest thing ever seen at a prop firm

The reason so many washed out and failed after the bubble burst was because most of those assholes didnt know how to trade in the first place but you could get away with sloppy habits during those hectic times. Now, you have to be more shrewd and skilled to make it. Alot of trading in those...

    Traders willing to share ideas......

if you are truly a good and profitable trader, why on earth would you want to go around sharing ideas? you are making your profits from the masses of people who dont know what they are doing. the more of them out there, the better it is for you.
